Weekly Answers, Pt. 4

1) Will you be hosting more recruiting chats? That was fun, especially with D4! - BruinChick
Definitely, and Malcolm Jones said he wants to join the next one. We'll try to set it up for next week.

2) Who is the best MLB pitcher of our generation, and why? - BruinChick
Best: Greg Maddux. Most dominant: Randy Johnson. Scummiest: Roger Clemens. Guy I'd want: Pedro Martinez. Guy I wouldn't want: Delino Freaking DeShields. Thanks, Dodgers.

3) I think you should get a message board. Any possibility of that happening? - Anonymous
For now, the blog will have to do. But we're looking for ways to expand.

4) Forbath. stay or go? - UCLAbruin1989
Stay.

5) Jon, assuming that only seniors leave the team next year how many open recruiting spots are there for hoops next year? How many of those spots does Howland want to fill next year. - Highlander
Five, I believe. And Howland wants five.

6) Have you contacted Uko's coach now that Pete's left the building? - Spedjones
No, but his dad blew me off twice and said his son didn't want to comment on the matter. So that's nice.

7) Would UCLA be willing to extend Norm Chow's seven-figure contract to keep USC from poaching him as Oregon State did for Mike Riley? - Anonymous
Seven figure? No. He should get an extension and perhaps a raise though.

8) Who is D4? - Anonymous
DCuatro is Deitrich Riley.

9) Will George Uko, Dillion Baxter, and Xaiver Grimble decommit from USC to UCLA? - Anonymous
Perhaps Baxter, but I think he's the only one.

10) Whats the best hot dog spot in Socal? - Anonymous
1) The Infield in Sherman Oaks is my favorite; the West Virginian is incredible (chili cheese dog with cole slaw) and the guys there are awesome. 2) Pinks: Come on, duh. 3) Fabs in Reseda/Encino - rippers like in New Jersey, crunch in your mouth, awesome. 4) My dad's. 5) I think it's pretty clear I like hot dogs.

I think Dillon Baxter MAY decommit, but I dont think he was looking very hard at UCLA. Am I wrong?

He will probably be smooth talked by SC in the end.

Jon,

ANY chance having recruits in a chat room with alums, current students, etc could be an NCAA violation? I'd prefer keep the violations on the other side of town.

Jon, you can blame Pedro trade on Dodger Blue Tommy Lasorda. He didn't think Pedro was big enough to be a starting pitcher. At the time, it was a good trade. DeShields was an All-Star 2B with Montreal.

Too bad Pedro wasn't 6-4 like his brother, Ramon. BTW, are they really related? Pedro is like 5'10" Maybe some forging names and bdates going on there.

You ommitied one:
March 7, 2005 - A settlement was reached this morning that will pay former University of Washington football coach Rick Neuheisel $4.5 million in his wrongful termination suit against the university and NCAA.

Rick has admitted his past mistakes. Spend your time compiling the SC transgressions and Kiffen's follies in 1 year at Tenn.

Weak attempt, Trojan boy. You think sighting minor violations from 8 years ago is a story? Can't you find anything relavant? This is your attempt to diffuse the negative attention that Lame Coffin is attracting, start slinging mud at CRN? That's weak and predictable. When the NCAA strikes in Feb, this will be the collective mantra of Trojan nation; deflect and diffuse. Coffin and Orgyron already committed a handful of secondary violations before they even got off the plane in LA. THAT'S relavant.

BruinChick Author Profile Page said:

Hehehe. Keep trying to deflect it. Rick isn't meeting with NCAA Infractions Committee next month.

BE VERY AFRAID said:

Silly little trojan, do you not see that your post on Neuheisel should have you crapping bricks?

Look at how minor his violations are compared to what your school is being investigated for?

I love how everyone accuses him of betting for participating in an NCAA bball pool like almost everyone does. Remind us, didn't Neuheisel win his case against UW? Of course you left that out.

None of these are even close to the improper benefits PUSC is being investigated for.

If the NCAA punished Neu for those secondary violations imagine the foot that the NCAA is going to shove up PUSC's and Mike Garrett's rear end...

Kiffin and Orgeron are Neu on steroids if we're talking about violations. It's true, McGwire told me so.

Come on Jon. The Infield over The Stand... or even Costco!

Mr. Anonymous,

Remind me, was Lame Kiffin at USC when Bush was there?

Hmm, I wonder if that will come up...

Hey Anonymous 5:40p

It befuddles me the way people will bend logic to suit their purposes. Your attempt to justify your post about comparing Neuheisel to Kiffin is ridiculous. "...Neuheisel has over 50, Kiffin has 5 or so."

So in your world if I was to say "well Neuheisel has committed 50 felonies, but Kiffin has committed only 5 or so felonies and so that makes Kiffin a better person than Neuheisel." Well according to your logic that would be right. Okaaayyyyy.

Look, Neuheisel committed his violations and paid the price several years ago and has run a clean program the last two years. Kiffin bailed on UT just after a year where he committed his secondary violations just last season. Under his watch the UT hostess program is under investigation for improprieties, three high profile players were arrested. Lastly, Coach Ogre began wooing mid-year freshman football players while still on the campus of UT and telling them not to show up to class this week.

I say unto you good Sir, who is the weasel now?

Anonymous said:

Kiffin is a Pimp. A UT recruit's dad had to tell a hostess to stop brushing her breasts against the recruit AND his dad repeatedly. Lol! Using sex to get recruits. I'll bet Kiffin and Orgeron have some nasty videos and pictures in their archives.

Neuheisel's clean... compared to John Wooden.

Anonymous said:

Dillon Baxter is up at Oregon right now and they'll be offering him. If he doesn't stick at USC then he'll be a Duck.

Anonymous said:

Pimp Lame fits as the new head criminal at SUC.

Jon's Dad said:

I think I should be in the top 3. My New York Street Dog (ref. the Sabrett's stand at W70th and Broadway) and my Italian Hot Dog (ref. Jimmy Buff's, Orange, NJ) are killer. So little respect from my own son.

Big Rumor today. Orgeron will be taking the vacant HC position at Louisiana Tech. This one has some major legs to it. Gold, can you see what is happening with this?

Huge rumor out there that Orgeron will take the HC position at Louisiana Tech. Hear anything on that Gold?

Actually, a guy that I know who works for the USC AD has been asked to contact a search firm for Lane Kiffen to help replace Ed Orgeron, as he is leaving shortly. Has anyone else heard that?
