Yates to UCLA
Fresno Edison defensive end Rykeem Yates, I'm told, has verbally committed to UCLA. Yates joins high school teammates Wesley Flowers and Tevin McDonald as verbal commits for the Bruins, and he is the Bruins' third defensive end for this class. UCLA is still waiting on decisions from Ego Ferguson and Owamagbe Odighizuwa.
Yates went into an official visit to UCLA this weekend without a scholarship offer, but left with an offer and a commitment.
A three star kid from Fresno who only had another offer from Fresno State.

That's an impressive 9-star recruiting from Fresno. We are officially Edison U. Maybe three three-stars combo (DT/DE/DB) can blow past an overrated five-star OL at SUC and knock their five-star pretty boy on his ass.

This kid benches 450 pounds and rak track, wrestled (made it to state) and played football @ Edison. He knocked Erik Kendricks out of a game. Put some weight on him and enjoy.

Yates is interesting, he's one of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the state and some rankings have him in the top 20 in the nation. Too bad UCLA dropped their wrestling program in the 1980s (thanks to title IX).
I would've thought he'd go to Stanford, ASU, Boise St. or Oregon St., which have solid wrestling programs, which shows that CRN and co. did a good job of convincing.
People are starting to feel down about this recruiting class bit I remember the same things being said about last years class up until signing day. My point is trust RNC and CNC they will make you believe again!
