EXCLUSIVE: New UCLA LB recruit Eric Kendricks on Signing Day

Inside UCLA: What was it like faxing over your LIO?
Eric Kendricks: "It was just a weight off my shoulders, a big relief. It's the security of where I'm going to go for sure."

Did you turn into a UCLA fan today, glued to the TV all day?
"Not quite - I've been at school. But I do know a couple guys who committed, and we're going to turn things around."

Have you talked with a lot of the UCLA recruits about their decisions?
"Everyone is really excited to get us back on the road, back on the right track. Hopefully we'll get good things going."

How were UCLA coaches focusing on you as signing day came to a close?
"They were checking in, but I was pretty confident in my decision. I was behind it 100 percent. They would check in periodically. All the coaches are really genuine. Some might act a certain way to recruit you. These guys, once they get you, they treat you the same way."

I played baseball in middle school with Eric and his brother (Cal linebacker). Both are great guys, great athletes. I look forward to seeing him wearing the blue and gold.
