Let's do another recap:
EJ Woods: Gone (for good)
Stan Hasiak: Gone (possibly)
Xavier Sua Filo: Gone (with no guarantee of return)
Randall Carroll: Suspended for a game (and bad Tweeter)
Morrell Presley: Suspended for a game, and not even relevant on the WR or TE depth charts

And that's why signing day is just a day and what really matters is what happens on the field (assuming the recruits can even make it into a game)

Hey Jon,

Are you subtly suggesting we're going to experience that kind of day again on wednesday?!

Eh, eh?

Hey Blue Bruin stop being so dramatic. Not all recruits pan out but the more high level recruits you get the better the odds.

EJ Woods was not even a part of that class let alone that day. Hasiak is probably coming back. Xman will be back after his mission. Carroll and Presley will mature, get stronger, and improve. They made some mistakes but they were just freshman. Presley also did not commit that day by the way.

Lets hope we have a better season afterwards. I'd prefer a finish better than 8th place in the Pac-10 for once under Rick's guidance.

I agree with blue...we were pretty excited with last years class but things look glum going forward with them. Also, we have yet to secure any of the recruits we are assuming are coming to ucla ie zumwalt, so hopefully we wont get a second round of disappointment. Regardless, we cant have another 5 or 6 loss season.

SUC trolls are obvious.

I think everything going on now with UCLA is on a great path. Some recruits don't pan out and that is just the nature of the game. As for the others I think there is still a lot of potential for them to excel with more experience because you can't expect everyone to be amazing right away playing on another level. Patience is all we need and I think that UCLA will have another great recruiting class and 2010 may be a great year... although 2011 will be spectacular following year. Go Bruins!

You can tell the SUC mouthbreathers are sweating Wednesday

Yes, there are highly recruited kids who come on and fail to meet expectations, but look at Joe Cowan and Patrick Cowan. They were brought on very lightly recruited, but I think they both turn out quite right and did an amazing job. As long as the players believe in the coaching staff, all great things can happen. Definitely looking forward to Wednesday. It is going to be a great day for the BRUINS. We are getting very high quality because they believe in the coaching staff and have no doubt they will turn out great for the program and move on to the No Fun League. Sua-filo is a BRUIN and will be back shortly. By that time we will be competing for National Championships. Go BRUINS.

Agree with several of the posters here. You don't get any wins specifically because of NLI day. They still all have to perform and the coaches have to do their part to put them in the best positions, etc. What this day IS good for is BUZZ...when more people start talking about the program in a positive light then it gives an edge with future recruits, get boosters interested in donating, gets fans in seats, gets games on national TV, etc.

Yes bruindodger and Mike H class of 90 are so correct.

Alot of highschool kids are just that a dominant hs kid in hs. When they get to college they now have to study, away from home and now everybody is bigger, stronger, faster and better than they were in hs. It takes a special kid to want to work hard and now start from the bottom, instead of being the big cheese all the time.

Alot of kids cannot handle being just average now and you never know which ones are now going to have the work ethic and mental toughness to handle D1 ball.

Good Luck to all the existing and future Bruins. We love ya all, even though we know 1/2 of you will probably not make a huge impact on the field.
