Nelson update
Ben Howland: "Reeves Nelson's eye is swollen. Medically he's cleared to go for tomorrow's game. We'll continue to try to reduce the swelling with ice. He looks like Rocky Balboa, but he should be fine."
Howland later added that he expected to play Nelson his normal minutes, around 25-30. Nelson was a big factor in UCLA's win over Washington on Jan. 21 with 16 points on 6-11 shooting and six boards.
Gotta love this kids effort...blue collar the whole way.

I love his toughness. I recall an interview with Nelson where he said that, "[He's] not afraid of anyone on a basketball court." The way he said it made me think that he was making partial reference to his experience playing tight end on his high school football team where I'm sure he took harder hits than anyone is allowed to deliver on a basketball court. That being said, Josh Smith plays linebacker on his football team. I'm hoping that this experience gives him the same fearless mentality as Nelson. Can you imagine having a bigger, more skilled version of Nelson at the 5, while the actual Nelson plays the 4?!
