WTF? Why? Esplain Gold esplain.
So, in other words, we pulled the offer? Why would we do that?
Can you just be straight up and say he didn't qualify academically if he didn't qualify? And what's the latest w/ Yates?
Typical. That's why we are second class citizens to SUC.
im confused which team you root for NOBS? or are you just another band wagoner?
"NOBS Author Profile Page said:
Sped-when are you going to answer the question? Pu$$y.
And I'll bet Slick Rick would trade his recruits for ours. You got noting."
haha - trOJies taking UCLA's cast-offs. Classic.
I, too, would like to know why? This is horrible news.
Well, simple enough, he hasn't gotten his AA yet so he can't sign. Once he gets his AA he can sign, right Gold? Why did you change your original post? Why not leave it as a matter of record and amend it later?
Jon,
Can you help to clarify if it is okay for Lane Kiffin to talk, by name, about Seantrel Henderson even though he hasnt sent in a LOI. I thought you couldnt mention recruits, and as this time he is still just a recruit to everyone.
Funny how suc troll, NOBS, would spell "SUC". Kind of like Ambles spell "trogan". "I'm going to be SUC TROGAN!!!!!!!!!!"
Well, I'm sure he would just be another SPECIAL ADMIT for UCLA. They lead the nation with 71%! Typical UCLA.
IGNORE THE TRUTH!
The reason why it 71% is because the admission standards are so high compared that a lot of them need some help getting in. Unlike USC of course...
anonymous 9:13, would you mind providing a source or a link to that number? thank you.
I didn't think Juco players could commit;don't they just get their degree and enroll? I wonder how many of the Figueroa Tech commits could qualify to enroll at UCLA? I am certain that the 70% number is totally false, but that's how they teach math at U$C.
Our special admits = SUC's valedictorians...Seriously, the janitors at UCLA >>>> professors at SUC
Where did he mention him by name?
KEEP IT DOWN WITH THE CAPS, ANON.
YOU SEEM LIKE A MEAT HEAD WITH YOUR ANGRY, IN YOUR FACE POSTS.
TYPICAL, PUSC BANDWAGON FAN.
"During his son’s recruitment, Sean Henderson said, recruiters from other colleges mentioned that the Trojans might face penalties from an N.C.A.A. investigation of their athletic program. But while visiting the Hendersons last week in Minneapolis, Lane Kiffin told them not to be worried, Sean Henderson said.
“As far as he’s been informed — he was very, very choosy with his words — there shouldn’t be anything going wrong because there was no knowledge of anything going on by the staff,” Sean Henderson said. The Hendersons asked Kiffin to be clear about what impact the N.C.A.A. might have on the Trojans’ football program, Sean Henderson said. Just before Seantrel chose U.S.C. on Wednesday, Kiffin reiterated not to listen to others who said the Trojans might face sanctions."
Now, I really hope Lane ends up looking like a fool. Lane's great at the talk. But when it comes to the walk... what he did to the Vols... karma will catch up eventually.
If karma is going to smack Kiffin and his 6 Tennessee violations it's going to hit $lick Rick and his 51 Colorado violations like a mack truck!
Lame sounds like a sleazy Mortgage Salesman selling Neg Am loans to unsophisticated homeowners. "Yeah, don't worry, you have a great 1% loan. Nothing is going to happen, just Refi in the next 5 years and you will be fine." We all know how that worked out.
Looks like Henderson, Prater, and Baxter aren't buying it, since they haven't signed their LOIs. The other doofuses were probably sold by Lame on 1.) Nothing bad happening and 2.) Being able to easily get out of their LOI if sanctions did come down.
These kids should have all sought legal counsel before signing. I would have made Lame sign an affidavit. Unfortunately many can't afford or have access to counsel. Here's hoping SUC catches a bunch of civil cases as a result.
How about what Dooley did to La Tech? Kelly to Cincy? Is every coach that takes another job in the wrong? What's the purpose of buyouts then?
Now he's listed under SC's recruits. WTF
It's not Lame Kiffin that they got a great recruiting class coming in after Cheat Carrol left. It's Ed Orgeron who should get the credit. Bruins better keeps the momentum for next season's recruiting class, otherwise the gap wider again.
It's statements like these that really piss me off. Your one-liner doesn't tell the whole truth! And as far as his grades, unless you've seen his transcripts... then you're only making assumptions. I can't wait until the 2010 crosstown rivalry game and I pray he plays.... I'll be giving both he and Malik a $20 per sack incentive.
SummerBreeze:
You SUC troll, before you tear Gold apart, pay attention. Marquis himself, on your crap hole recruiting site SC Playbook, said that "Something came up at UCLA and I had to find another school." Geez cool Breeze, I wonder what that means? Here is the link, why don't you choke on it.
http://usc.scout.com/2/943926.html
However, there might be sanctions or bad news by Feb. 21st, before he signs. This one is not over.
Then again, Marquis said he found out about the development at UCLA at about 11:30 am. Hmmmmm, isn't that when Owa committed? Maybe that also had something to do with it, as well as admissions issues. Here is the direct quote from SC Playbook.
"Yes, I committed to USC," said Jackson. "Something came up at UCLA and I had to find another school. And it will probably be a blessing because I really do want to play with my brother.
Jackson said he learned of the development with UCLA at about 11:30 a.m. and that's when he got together with his family, including his brother and USC defensive lineman, Malik Jackson, to discuss his desire to join his brother at USC.
Gee, I feel bad for the kid not being able to go the the school he really wanted to play for and having fall back on his second or third choice. shoulda taken care of business.
When was the last time ucla won a rose bowl again? Just admit that SC will always be the better program. Oh, wait, beating Temple was a great accomplishment. Idiots.
lol....WOW! SUC TROLL? I had to think long and hard as how to respond to you BruinFaithful. First, it doesn't surprise me that you can't spell USC correctly, because Bruins can't spell BCS either. Second, I've read EVERYTHING out there about Marquis, so I don't need you mentioning ANY sources. Third, if you read 11:30 AM, either you can't read just like you can't spell, or that was a misprint. AND, for you to suggest that Marquis was remotely worried about some high school kid, let's me know you're just a bag of toxic hot air, couch potato. UCLA is a great school and I have nothing bad to say about the coaching staff.... but since I know the details of the situation, I have a slight bad taste for the baby (which is what your whining sounds like) blue and gold. See you in Pasadena, if you make it off the couch. I'll be the Troll in the jersey with Malik and Marquis' number on it..... keep an eye out for me, that is, if you'll be able to see through your tears. Be Blessed and Fight On!
"SummerBreeze said:

Isn't this why the Trogans are facing the NCAA Inquisition right now? I'd imagine $20/sack is on the lean side of what happens, but still that represents the kind of out-of-control booster behavior that has them in hot water now (Bush gets a home, several players-including McKnight- get cars in other people's names, etc).
For the record, he doesn't have his AA degree yet so he can't sign with anyone (a non-qualifier out of high school). Best of luck to him with Lame Violation and Ogre, but UCLA will be fine without him.
$UC's run is in the past, btw. While Carroll, Jones and McKay have undoubtedly been dynasty coaches, others have been so-so. Lame is just an outright idiot, so I wouldn't expect much from him, even with all of that talent. He is the living definition of the Peter Principle. You Trogans will see soon enough. The talent level in the Pac 10 is much closer, so coaching becomes more important. Neu is already 1-0 vs Lame WITH lesser talent.
Interesting banter to say the least from BruinFaithful on down the thread. But lets refocus here. Shouldn't we be happy for all the recruits no matter what school they decided to choose? After all they made it on to higher institutions. And that's what it is all about. Sports is secondary to fufilling educational pursuits. Right? Or have we become a Nation of jocks kicking rocks, throwing socks and ducking blocks? I pray there is a balance somewhere.
Kudos to Marquis and may the Lord continue to steady his feet on his road through life. He's strong and dedicated and should be complimented for his efforts. He chose to focus on the good things God has in store. He's determined to shut the door on fear and doubt and follow his inner Spirit which has led him to USC. May God continue to bless him and all COLLEGE players worldwide.
Guess we'll find out how Lane does WITH greater talent.
Would love to see Marquis fail to get into SC and have to transfer elsewhere. Wouldn't that prove it was all about grades? Nahhhh.
Anonymous do u have a personal vendetta against this young man? do you know him personally? why do you hate him? WOW - its unbelievable that hatred is still prevalent in our society after so much work to become "one nation under God."
Anonymous.... You should really be ashamed of yourself for saying that! You are probably no more than some 4'2 lonely looser that has never stepped foot on a football field. Actually, you were probably the kid that nobody wanted to pick for their team in elementary school. I will say a prayer for you because for you NOT to know Marquis, and say something like that was very evil. If you are a typical Bruin fan, I'm freaking GLAD he was blessed with other opportunities...... I would never want YOU or anyone like you rooting for him. One side of me would love to kick your ***, but the better side of me will simply say, "God bless you!" Fight On!
Oops, I didn't see the comment from brewnz...... You know, I knew some jack a** was going to go there with my comment..... and low and behold, here's brewnz. It seems to be a pattern with you UCLA fans.... you start typing before your UCLA brain know the facts. Booster behavior? I'm not a booster jack ***. WOW! I really hope you people don't represent the masses! I can't take the time to conversate with such ignorance and hatred, so good bye and see you at the Rose Bowl. Good luck to all you Bruin fans for the 2010 season, I hope the team does really well.
Who here actually believes that four and five star recruits choose their college based on academics?
Regarding SummerBreeze's last comment above: I love it when 'sc fans try to sound intelligent and fall flat on their face.
Summerbreeze: "I can't take the time to conversate with such ignorance and hatred, so good bye and see you at the Rose Bowl."
Right, summer, why don't you go ahead and "conversate" with us before you say "good bye" again?
Face it, 'sc will always be a third tier school academically and, really looking at your dreary future with Lane, you will ultimately come to terms with the fact that your football program is on a downward path. Have fun with your new coach. :)
