1) Do you expect football recruiting to be the same next year with little emphasis on early signings, or do you expect more commitments earlier? - John A
Perhaps I was too strong in my emphasis that Neuheisel was willing to wait for the end for the elite players - UCLA had its fair share of early commitments. However, Neuheisel has proven he will go to bat for the major recruits, and many of them wait longer in the process. So I expect the same.
2) What position(s) will be strengths in California for next year's recruiting cycle? Any known UCLA leans? - PakistaniBruin
Here's the breakdown after a look at the Scout.com 4-star and 5-star prospects in California:
1 QB; 3 RB (including one JC); 4 WR (including one JC); 0 TE; 0 OT; 3 DT; 3 DE (including one JC); 1 OLB; 0 MLB, 0 S, 0 CB. Keep in mind, however, that this is extremely early in the process, and more and more 4- and 5-stars will pop up over the coming months. However, wide receiver certainly appears to be a big strength, and UCLA will go after Serra's George Farmer relentlessly.
3) Latest on Julious Moore and odds of him coming to UCLA? - davideskiAt this point, I wouldn't put the odds at very good. It's an academic issue, and he'll have to decide if he wants to work hard enough for UCLA's rigorous standards.
4) IF USC gets hit with sanctions and loses some scholarships and 1 year of postseason play, how would this affect USC's current recruiting class and future classes? - anonymous
Seantral Henderson was the only one not to sign his LOI, so the other recruits are either locked in or face big consequences. However, it would certainly affect the next couple years...but not as much as you think.
5) How did r carroll and other track & field/football players do this weekend in az and will r carroll burn it up on the football field with lots of blazing catched for tds next yr?
Carroll finished 5th and Sheldon Price 10th in the 200. Nelson Rosario won the long jump with a PR of 24-00.75. If football were only about speed, Usain Bolt would be making $10 million a year in the NFL. It's not just about speed.

I laugh at Usain Bolt, it is 2010 track and field stars get paid now. Usain probably made $10 million in 2009 without having Ray Lewis trying to knock his head off. That argument is so 1970's.
Too early to evaluate the 2011 class for scout.com
Lane Kiffin already scouted it though. They work that hard!
Lame is cruising through the Middle schools for 13 yr olds
Yeah but did USC get that commit under Carroll or Kiffin?
Kiffin got the recruit on February 3rd.

Has SC received his LOI?
If not I think it is best to wait until it is a done deal...
As of September, Bolt's 2009 earnings were around $1.5 million. Supposedly, he is looking at $10 million in 2012.
Your answer about Randall Carroll and the track guys was insufficient. I realize that's because the official UCLA release was so woefully worded (it seems they must be using a non-sports student asst to do those write-ups in the SID's office this year. Budget cuts perhaps??).
Anyway, here's the full story:
In the 60-meter dash prelims,
5. Randall Carroll - 6.86
10. Sheldon Price - 6.99
In the 60m dash finals
8. Carroll - 6.89
10. Price - 6.95
In the 200-meter dash finals (no prelims)
5. Carroll 21.98
10. Price - 22.32
To put it into perspective... NCAA qualifying times are
60m - 6.71
200m - 21.88
As for Rosario, he had a great meet.
As mentioned he won the Long Jump in an indoor lifetime best of 24'-3/4" -- he'll need about 6 more inches to qualify for NCAAs
Rosario also tied for 3rd with teammate Jonathon Clark in the High Jump at just under 6'9"
Meanwhile UCLA men easily won the Team Challenge against the likes of ASU et al.
SuC Deez cruises through middle schools looking for 13 year olds as well.
The difference being that no college sports are involved in SD's case.
