*And an explanation for the radio silence: I had a long 1-on-1 interview with Ben Howland for out feature Q&A in Sunday's Daily News. I'll sprinkle a few select quotes over the next few days.
1) Did you and Ben Olsen play football together? - Anonymous
Yes, and it's Olson.
2) How many former former Bruin basketball and football players attend games regularly? With so many living in SoCal, you would think it would be a lot, but the only one I spot attending regularly is Mike Warren, at least at Pauley. Unless I'm missing something, it's disappointing that more aren't in attendance, unless they're being honored for something, as with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Jamaal Wilkes. - Matt Hagen
I understand the sentiment, but face it, these guys have busy lives and maybe they're not the biggest UCLA fans.
3) On the "Survivor" heroes vs villains promos, the word "heroes" appears in a hue you might describe as True Blue, while the word "villains" appears in a shade of red--a crimson, to be more precise. Coincidence, or has CBS figured out what the rest of us already know?? - Anonymous
This isn't an answer so much as a comment but: You people are hilarious sometimes.
4) How about a feature eatery or food review every week? We like to eat! - lardbutt
If you guys would really be interested, I'd love to. But I don't want to start doing this and then get dumped on by the same guys. If the response is favorable, sure. But don't expect me to be like the other Jonathan Gold, the best food critic in the business. My reviews will generally consist of "It's the best **** in the world" or "I would never eat this **** again." I'm pretty cut and dry when it comes to restaurants.
5) On a fairytale message board for trolls, what do they call posters who deliberately try to irritate others? - Reformed Droog
I think the name for that is "Anonymous."

Oh sweet baby blue,
Crimson is what Alabama says their red is, USC claims cardinal.
But if you want to be witty, try calling it ketchup or blood, don't "roll" with the Tide's color. Step it up and be creative little powder.
In the real world, they call the worst of trolls spedjones and Charlie Bucket.
Re: former Bruins attending games, at last week's b-ball game against Cal, Arron Afflalo was at Pauley and the crowd went nuts when he was introduced. Same with Corey Pavin. It was pretty cool to see those guys in the house.
Sounds good to me! If theres a good spot to get a great lunch or some late night street food i'd love to know about it Mr.Food Critic.
Hopefully there will be a picture too. yum!
Gold, I would love straight-forward food reviews.
btw: Kate's Kitchen in San Francisco, excellent tip. Gracias
Oh so loyal alum Anon...
I, too, choose to "comment anonymously" yet I type in a "Name" (no need to sign up or have an online personality).
jon how many blog sites do you run? are affiliated with Bruns nation...
Big Pun is a dork
Where the F*** is Jon????
looks like fly otw can't differentiate waive from wave. to waive a player is something usually only done only in pro sports, not college sports. pro sports are where the players get paid for their performances on ther field. maybe fly is obsessed with the only pro football team in LA - suc.
This is a UCLA sports blog, not a food blog. I say keep the food, shopping, hair style reviews out..
