Hasiak reinstated, will play spring ball
UCLA sophomore offensive lineman Stanley Hasiak was reinstated to the football team and will participate in spring ball.
Hasiak was expected to start in the preseason before losing his spot, and Jeff Baca got the nod at left guard throughout the year. With Xavier Su'a-Filo on his LDS mission, there is a hole at left tackle that Baca could possibly fill, potentially creating a spot for Hasiak.
Hasiak was put on indefinite suspension from the team in late December but has worked his way back.

did he participate in spring workouts?
Perhaps if Stan the Man can keep his cool he'll be able to play against the newest Trojan ---
Seantrel Henderson...
Wait a has the NCAA come down with their decision?
This 'noble' young man came out on Signing day (Feb. 3)announced he not sign with the Trojans until the penalties facing the team was announced.
Yesterday, Henderson’s father publicized that Sonny apparently received acceptable ACT scores so he'll be signing with Southern California this week.
What's the connection?
Is not wanting to play for a penalizded team connected to the ability to pass a standardized test.
On another post HJudge Judy said that the Big Boy woukld have had to sit out a year if he was declared NCAA ineligible on Feb 3.
I'm not a conspiracy nut, but with the reality Kiffin and his henchman Coach O. demonstrated in abusing contacting recruits, perhaps they shed light on this NCAA reality to Poppa and Son Henderson
Or as was also posted previously: "Either dat or Reggie Bush gave Henderson and his Pops the game plan for playin' for hire at SC. Another Man of Troy -- Integrity and character is what it's all 'bout, dog!"
This whole mini-saga is a sad commentary on the minor pro league football and BB reality at too many institutions of higher learning.
Here's hoping Stan has turned it around. Regardless if he plays a single down for us this year, it would be a tragedy to lose a premier education over self-control issues.
welcome back stan!
The unspoken question is: Had there been no hole in the left side of the line would Stan have been welcomed back?
In other words, did this guy turn it around or did he have the coaches over a barrel?
Anon @ 7:30 AM:
I think Drew Gordon proved, it doesn't matter how talented you are... what matters is what you do for the team. Hole or no hole I don't think Stan was coming back if he didn't straighten up. I for one am glad he choose to!
Welcome back Stan!

Anon2: It works both ways. Hasiak could have found out that your options for other schools are mighty thin when you have been suspended from the team because of repeated incidents with teammates, in the locker room etc. Some of his original recruiters may have backed off of him as a result and he may have otherwise been forced to take a steep drop in prestige to transfer.
I agree with UCLABZ.
UCLA sports, like all other universities, are not squeaky clean, but there seems to be a tight reign on acceptable behavior as a matter of philosophy.
Although Coach Rick has been accused on many things during his previous college coaching career, but I don't think one of his recruited players or even the ones he inherited, continued with the team if they displayed questionable character.
Most recently, EJ Woods, sought by many schools including SC, was shown the door at UCLA a few years ago for inappropriate actions towards women.
It seems that Coach Rick could be a hipper version of Terry Donahue, which wouldn't be so bad for the team.
oh so sugar sweeeet to have Stan back!

Huh?
Try posting again after the drugs wear off.
I don't think coach palcic or coach Neuheisal would let anyone that isn't going to buy into the concept of team ,to get a barrel up on them , he has not proven anything in college football and CRN has been doing this too long to put up with a kid with that attitude. Here's to Stan turning it around and making our O line better, whether its via scout or starter . He is strong enough to play right away its his mindset that held him back , I believe he bench pressed over 500 as an incoming freshman .
Way to go, Stan! You have obviously done some growing up over the last few months, so you deserve this opportunity. I appreciate that you also seem to have a strong family supporting you during your tribulations. While we fans do not necessarily know the battles you've faced, we're all thankful for that support you've received. It's all about channeling the "game face" the right way. Welcome back to the TEAM, and here's to an AWESOME sophomore season!
So happy for all parties involved...go Bruins!
