Howland fond of Collison
Former UCLA point guard Darren Collison won NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month honors for February after averaging 21.6 points, 8.3 assists and nearly two steals in the place of star guard Chris Paul, who is out with a knee injury.
The honor was not lost on UCLA head coach Ben Howland.
"That was great to see Darren win rookie of the month," UCLA head coach Ben Howland said. "I just talked to Darren (Monday), not knowing they had a game last night - he had 15 assists. He's playing great and what was nice, and I forgot who told me that, is ESPN did a great piece on him, about how his four years prepared him. There's no question he's helped himself as an NBA player."

I did not see the ESPN clip but i hope that all of the UCLA hopefuls AND current players see that CBH can get you to the NBA as a star if you work hard.not saying any name (J.A. & B.M.). keep killem DC.
Anybody have a link to the ESPN piece? I miss DC and am so glad that he is having success at the next level. One of my all time favorite Bruins!
A classy young man. It was wonderful watching him play with the 2007-08 team.
Imagine if Love and Westbrook stayed for '08-'09 like Darren did?
Shipp, Josh f (Europe pro)
Love, Kevin c (NBA)
Aboya, Alfred f (Europe pro)
Westbrook, Russell g (NBA)
Collison, Darren g (NBA)
Off the bench:
Holiday, Jrue g (NBA)
A case could be made for a national title and the current haterade drinkers would have little to moan about this year of rebuilding.
kinda makes you wonder how we even lost to memphis...match up smatch ups, if howland had a clue and made the adjustments against Rose to put westbrook on him...we might have hung #12...
