Howland On: Pt. 2
Here are some assorted Ben Howland quotes from UCLA's Tuesday press conference:
On Arizona:
"Arizona's coming off a great win (over Stanford). Landry Fields made a great pass to Trotter, and he went up and had the shot blocked by Williams, and then they came back and banked one to win it. It's their last two home games of the year, and they're very talented. I watched our game against Arizona the first time, and I just really felt badly about how poorly we played in that game. We were 5-for-24 in the first half at home here. First play of the game was a jump in the air pass, a turnover. It was really frustrating to watch that game."
On playing Arizona to open and close the Pac-10 season:
"When we get to that point, we always look at our previous game with them and also their last three, four games. The difference between when we played them the first time and now, we're predominantly playing zone now. We played a lot of man defense in that game, and in the first half, the game was tied until about nine or 10 minutes to go. Part of it was taking poor shots and part of it was turnovers.
On Tyler Honeycutt going from 18 points and 10 attempts to four points and four attempts two days later:
"He had nine assists, which I think is probably his career high, 13 rebounds. He didn't look to shoot it much. He had 18 and 10 night, and then to have 13 rebounds and nine assists and to be in foul trouble - he did a good job playing with four fouls in the last 10 minutes."
