Hey guys,

Fire away with questions for this week's Q&A. Please don't post new questions on the answers section, because I don't always check the comments. Save them for next week.

Thanks
Jon

BASKETBALL: I read someplace that next year's NCAA tournament will have 96 teams. How will the extra week work? My guess would be:
Day 1 = 65-96 play each other
Day 2 = 48-64 play winners of 65-96

Also, what do you think of a 96-team tournament? Excessive?

I would would to know if Sheller, Keene and Savage finally have a chance to contribute this season? These guys have been on the bench so long that that have splinters

I have heard that Norm Chow has large bonuses coming in March and April and that once he collects he is leaving for USC and that is also the reason Kiffen has yet to sign an offensive coordinator. Do you know anything about this?

Jon, any news about the Adidas contract?? Do the coaches have a say? I have this feeling that Howland's pro Adidas because of his Pitt ties and Neuheisel is pro Nike because of Colorado and UDub.

Mr. Gold, I know that this question is a bit late but I was wondering do you know why Pullard and Shirley never wanted to play in the same team? As a USC fan I must admit that I was surprised that Pullard committed to USC considering he was perceived as a UCLA lock whereas Shirley was perceived as a USC lean. On signing day rumors surfaced that both players did not like each other but I could not find any evidence to support this rumor with the exception of their commitments to rival schools. Thank you in advance.

D-1 college Offensive Linemen have gotten a lot bigger since I was in college back in the 80’s and 90’s. What is a “good” weight for an incoming freshman who is 17-19 versus a quality Pac-10 linemen who been in the weight room a few years?

Does it matter if they are tackles, guards or centers?

Timing is everything! I think any UCLA Final Four team from 2006,2007, or 2008 would easily win this year's Final Four given the competition. What do you think?

Mr. Gold:

Don't know if this has been asked and answered, but my questions relate to the TE position. Do you see UCLA using it more in the passing game this year? Also, who do you see as the leading "pass catching" TE this season?

Thanks for the hard work.

While Coach Neuheisel sees the role of strength and conditioning training equal to d. and o. coordination, do you know if Coach Howland has a similar philosophy? Is Coach Howland as dependant upon his trainer for success? Does Mike Linn work with the Basketball team? If not, who?

Jon, per Draftexpress' Jonathan Givony (http://twitter.com/DraftExpress/status/11325877324) Josh Smith has told him at the McD-AA that Ray McCallum is a "done deal at UCLA". Do you have any info on this? And if it's true, how does it change UCLA's 2010/2011 scenery?
