Even Younger Guns

Several of UCLA’s recruiting coups from the class of 2010 were in attendance on Sunday, including linebackers Jordan Zumwalt and Josh Shirley and safety Dietrich Riley. Even more premier recruits in the class of 2011 ventured to Westwood, including Mater Dei teammates Max Wittek (quarterback) and Victor Blackwell (wide receiver), Crenshaw running back/cornerback De’Anthony Thomas, and a cavalcade of Oaks Christian Lions – quarterback Trevor Gretzky, along with some guy named Wayne, tight end Dillon Van Der Wal and wide receiver Blair Holliday.

“They had a huge recruiting class, and now UCLA is the up-and-coming school, the one that everyone wants to be at,” Van Der Wal said. “Having all of us here, a lot of us know each other, so it’s cool hanging out – that’s how you try to build a program. It’s really cool having all of us out here.”
