Quotables: Kevin Prince

Neuheisel kind of called out the offense yesterday for regressing; did you feel it?
“I felt it; there are days where you can feel a lull. We’re trying to get everybody going and it just wasn’t happening yesterday. I feel like it made us realize that we can’t come out here and go through the motions. We have to come out here with a focus every day and be ready to improve and get better.”

What young wideouts are impressing you?
“I think Jerry can do some good things for us; he could be one of those upper-echelon guys if he gets some more time. I think Ricky Marvray can make plays for us, and Randall is starting to make some catches. There’s that second-tier, but they’re closer than people might think they are.”

With a pretty clear-cut gap between the top wideouts and the second group, how can you focus on individual guys to help them improve?
“You just have to kind of play it as it goes. You can’t concentrate too much on who you’re going to make better. You never know what’s going to happen, what’s going to happen with injuries. You can’t just focus on one receiver. You have to work with them all and hope they each progress equally.”

How would you rate the Revolver right now?
“I’d say a seven. There’s definitely some good things I like, some things we need to iron out still. The difference between what we’re running now and last year is we had checks in the play call. I knew exactly what to look for in those checks. Hot reads. Now, I hear a call and I have to think of what check goes along with what play. I have to know a lot more than I did last year.”
