Post-practice update

* Rick Neuheisel had some rather pointed words for certain unnamed players about concentration and effort after a practice marred by missed assignments and dropped passes.
* A lighter day on the contact side, as much of the practice was one-on-one and seven-on-seven drills, with little tackling.
* The bad news: Kai Maiava’s knee sprain is worse than anticipated and he’ll be out six weeks. Ryan Taylor will continue with the ones, as he has for much of spring.
* The interesting news: Christian Ramirez was in a white jersey today, back on offense, where he’s getting a look at F-back.

Not exactly sure how much the TE figures in the “Revolver” but UCLA has no depth at TE with Chandler at DT and Fauria nicked up. That would mean Presley seeing more TE duty than perhaps the coaches had figured. So it seems this is the reason CRam is being asked to play the F.

Is Maiava another Micah Kia? Good player but ‘injury prone.’ Hope he comes good in the Fall and can lead the O-line this season.

It would be nice if our receivers actually started catching the ball. What Prince does is irrelevant if these guys are just going to be dropping balls left and right.

what Jon’s report leaves out is that Carroll and MP ARE catching the ball. Norm said RC is going to be a star. Things are looking up.
