From UCLA:

The Big 12 and Pac-10 Conferences have announced the dates and matchups for the 2010 Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series. The series will be in its fourth year after starting competition during the 2007-08 season.

The majority of the games are scheduled for December 2-5, with three taking place outside the four-day series window. The matchups mirror the ones that took place in the fall of 2009, with the road team from a year ago hosting this season.

The Big 12 held a 9-3 advantage in the Hardwood Series contests last season and leads the three-year series, 20-16. In 2009, the 12 contests drew more than 110,000 fans. In the three years of the event, more than 355,000 fans have come through the turnstiles.

Additional components of the series, including the start times and television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

Why/how did USC and Washington get the extra game?

SC and UW get extra games because it is the Big TWELVE vs. the Pac TEN. Which conference has two extra teams that need to be accommodated? I believe the two Pac 10 teams with extra games is rotated around the conference. Since this is the 4th year of the challenge I believe that UCLA will get two games in the series in the 2011-2012 season.

Hey Slippery Pete:
No kidding! 12-10 =2! I was asking why or how USC & UW got the extra game? What were the details? Was there a coin toss, lottery, or are they rotating two teams from the Pac 10 each year of the series etc? Is that clear now?
