From UCLA:

UCLA sophomore cornerback Brandon Sermons, who suffered a fractured left femur Saturday afternoon during practice at Spaulding Field, underwent successful surgery to repair the fracture on Saturday night.

During the surgery, which took place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, a metal rod was inserted in the femur to aid the healing process. He could be released from the hospital as early as Monday.
