Weighing his words
While Rick Neuheisel is known to be very candid about his players' performances, he pulled a few punches after Monday's sloppy effort, despite his disappointment.
"It's important that these kids understand, whether it's their time here at UCLA or whatever business opportunities they get into - the NFL or Wells Fargo bank - that you have to seize your opportunity," said Neuheisel, refusing to name names after a practice littered with missed assignments and dropped passes. "When kids get an opportunity to get into the game, they better know what they're doing. If they don't, there's no one to blame but themselves. Too often we hear, 'Oh, I'm not getting my chance.'
"This spring practice is nothing but chance, nothing but opportunity."

I have noticed that on defense there are some young guys who were 4 star-rated who have not been given many reps at all in Spring ball. I suspect they would take big issue with Neuheisel's claim everyone has been given a chance in Spring Ball. I realize CRN has virtually nothing to do with the defense but he is still the HC
Who gets reps has A LOT to do with their respective position coaches , every single player thinks they should be on the field , but obviously only 11 can play so the best get reps. Special teams is where those players you're referring to should and can make a coach look twice at them. But above all else is the concept TEAM , and I think these guys know that and in order to win you have to be a TEAM ! Would love to hear other thoughts though .
