Just think, IF Ross Bjork really did leave Western Kentucky to return to UCLA next year and IF we wanted him back, this story would then be important to UCLA fans. Unlikely, yes, but never say never.

There's information circulating that John Wooden's health may be fading. You think you could get off your duff and actually sniff out some important news? Or are you still in your swoon over Pete Carroll "representing all that's right in college football"...yeah..

I found this article to be interesting. Ross is a good guy and will do good things.

I will admit that I signed up for a scout.com account once Dohn left because I didn't find this blog as relevant, but I do understand that its going to take Jon Gold time to get those same connections...and I understand that Jon is doing some new things in terms of podcasts and what not. Even if I didn't understand the things I just mentioned, I would absolutely positively understand that this blog is for FREE and considering that newspaper companies are falling by the roadside left and right, I'm not going to complain and be rude to new Daily News staff members or certainly to other staff members who are just filling in while someone's on vacation. The link Jill posted isn't even to her paper so the Daily News is getting credit for the web hit - another paper is.

It's not my job as a reader to be overly nice to their staff or understand anything. If the daily news is not making money off of this blog then shut it down or find a way to fix it. Even if the blog is free (which it is not thanks to the ad revenue made by us with each click) it is an extension of their business.

Would you defend a restaurant that made bad food and say "I know the food sucks but they are trying to make it good even though they don't make any money". No one would say that. Why is a paper different? It is a business not a charity.

Also the Wed or Thu segment where the readers would ask 10 question were the best. "10 question with" and becuse the questions came from various readers Dohn usually chose the 10 best.

You are right: If a restaurant were serving bad food, no one would defend it. It should be shut down. The problem with your analogy is, YOU KEEP EATING THERE.
