Weekly Answers, Pt. 1

Guess I’ll start these early…

1) Now that the hammer has fallen, do you think Pete Carroll’s reputation will be tarnished anywhere near the level Neuheisel’s was? Would Neuheisel still have the “cheater” label if he had skipped town at his previous gigs before infractions were reported? – SnailofWestwoodSomehow, no. I don’t see Carroll getting a tenth of the vitriol that he deserves for what happened to the program under his regime. It’s actually quite surprising to me. So much anger towards Garrett and Bush, and it almost seems like Carroll is getting a free pass.

2) It appears Oregon is running a loose program. Reminds me of Miami during their national championship years. Are these matters of concern to the NCAA/PAC 10 or are these infractions policed by the Oregon AD/football team? – AnonymousMisconduct by individual players is under the purview of the team, not the conference and certainly not the NCAA. And Miami was representative of the entire college football community as its flagship program at the time. Oregon is peanuts comparatively.

3) I see a bunch of baseball guys went in the draft but not the only two players I had heard of before the draft (Bauer & Cole)… How long can we can we expect these guys to be around in Westwood? – UCLABZI wouldn’t be surprised if many stayed. Bauer and Cole were sophomores and not draft-eligible. A lot of the major contributors were younger. This could be a VERY special team next year, too, despite the loss of Claypool and almost certainly Rasmussen.

4) What up Jon, hope all is well. Question. When would the nebraska and colorado expansions actually take place? would they join the conference this upcoming season, keep their schedules and slowly incorporate pac-ten/big-ten teams into their schedules a few years from now, or join the conference in a couple of years and the reschedule. thanKs??? – LBCBruinI think Colorado and Utah could join in 2011, but I don’t think that’s been determined. Nebraska is going to the Big-10(12) in 2012.

5) How many scholarships do we have available when the rats start jumping off the burning horse. – BruinbybirthI think at the moment there are 14, but that number could go up.
