BREAKING NEWS: Rahmatulla breaks wrist, out for CWS

| | Comments (9) |

UCLA second baseman - and three-hole hitter - Tyler Rahmatulla suffered a broken right wrist in the team's post-game celebration on Sunday night, and will be out for the College World Series in Omaha.

UCLA's bracket is a tough one, with TCU, Florida and Florida State. The Bruins open with the Gators at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

I just got off the phone with John Savage, and I'll have a story up shortly.

which is crazy because the espn2 commentators were just saying that kind of celebration could be dangerous while it was happening.
and you could see one of the other ucla players trying to pull the other players off saying "stop, f'ing stop! get the f' off!" at first I thought he was kinda being a bit up tight trying to curb the celebration... but I guess he could see that one of the guys was hurt.

"breaking news"... oh that's punny.

seriously thought, isn't anyone there an Angels fan?

Bad idea -- dog pile.
Cody Keefer at the USC game and now Tyler.

They had a picture of the celebratory pile-on over at the Times and I posted a comment along the lines of 'what with the Angels recent experience, this is even stupider than usual'. This is moronic. And don't tell me about the excitement of the moment. With a broken wrist, you just never know for sure, this kid may lose his future as a ball player.

Even dogs don't do the dogpile.

Was only a matter of time!!!

That looked like a dangerous pile. I was amazed nobody got hurt. Not amazed anymore. Big loss.

They knew they were going to win the game way before the 9th inning, which makes it even more ridiculous. Those last few players who jumped on the way top of the pile should have been running lots of sprints on Monday...I think "Get the F off" will be my new email signature.

This makes me angry. What a bunch of frakking c***heads. Save the dog pile for winning the final game. JEEZ!
