Check out the latest batch of weekly answers...

1) Is Smith going to start from day one? Also do we have an improved shot blocking presence that we lacked last year? - Anonymous
If he gets in better shape, yes. And yes. Smith is a fine player, and just needs to get his body right. Great attitude, great skills, UCLA fans just have to hope Howland can flip that switch.

2) Who do you expect to commit to UCLA football in the coming year? Thanks! - Sunset Bruin
After the sanctions, all bets are off. I don't think anybody really knows how this will all play out.

3) Odds Utah ends up in the Pac 10? - bruinbrian
10 percent.

4) Have you heard if any of our 2010 football commits are doubtful/unlikely to qualify for fall? - Anonymous
Not really, and certainly none who will battle for playing time.

5) Why don't college basketball teams go 2 for 1 more often? Is one quality possession really better than two (possibly) mediocre possessions? You would think that more skilled college teams could pull this off like they do in the NBA. - hicalliber
High-percentage offensive sets are definitely not the norm in college basketball. Takes a very, very good offensive coach to convey what he wants to a bunch of 18-year olds.
