Plano East (Texas) C/G Jacob Brendel reportedly commits
Jacob Brendel, Scout.com's No. 6-rated center, has reportedly committed to UCLA. Brendel has a pretty impressive list of offers, included among them Cal, Stanford and Arizona, but he now becomes the Bruins sixth verbal commit and fourth offensive line commit.
If Brendel's hometown sounds familiar, it should: Kyle and Korey Bosworth played for Brendel's rival, Plano West.
I'll try to reach Brendel tomorrow and get an interview up.

GO BRUINS
This is great hope Pomee's dad has a change of heart and let's him stay a bruin!
Great reporting scoop John!!!
Jacob, welcome to the Bruin Family!!!
Plano, TX sounds familiar because it is the corporate headquarters of Frito-Lay.
6'4.5"...that is one big freakin' kid. Hopefully he can pack on another 20 lbs and keep his pads low.
Could be a solid contributor for many years.
Three stars going into his senior campaign, great size, sitting on 8-10 offers. What's not to like? Welcome aboard Jacob.
This seemss like a pretty good get-love being able to reach into prime UT/Oklahoma recruiting ground and pluck one. I'm excited to make the six mile drive and watch this kid play this fall.
Maybe Plano, Texas sounds familiar because it's the corporate headquarters for JC Penny, Inc.
Scoop? This story was out way before Jon got on the phone with Huffman, who told him about it so Jon could then "scoop" it here. Another chance to prove he's blog-worthy and another chance blown.
I believe his name is Brendel, with two e's.
Plano, TX sounds familiar because Kyle and Korey Bosworth came from Plano.
Looks like UCLA picks up anonther OL commit. Casey Griffiths, 6'5" 285lb, from American River C.C. (Sacramento). He has 3 years of eligibility left.
"commits"...
I live in Dallas, about 15-20 miles south of Plano. It is mostly suburban (to the best of my knowledge). There are a lot of good players who come out of there, so hopefully he will be another one!
