Difference in practice

There were probably about 200 fans in the stands for Saturday's afternoon practice and others were watching from two parking structures. USC used to have a practice entourage but with NCAA probation for two years, the Trojans have closed practice to public and only guests of VIPs can get in. On Saturday, Neuheisel allowed fans to go onto the field in the area that separates the two practice fields. A UCLA spokesperson said he did this so fans could see better. I've never seen fans on the field before, at a UCLA practic, but I'm told it has happened once or twice before.

Nice to see our lack luster fans starting to show up. We need more fan support and need to fill up the Rose Bowl and make it one of the toughest places to play on college FB!

Getting on the field was pretty cool. Marvray made a terrific juggling catch over Jefferson on the 10. No one fights harder for a ball than Rick. S T U D.

ucla34, The Rose Bowl is already a tough place to play for visiting teams because we the fans are hollering on every down, and it gets very loud but it would be nice to get that average attendance up to 85,000 per game which is only 10,000 more than our average the past three years. With this exciting team we now have the crowds will be getting larger each week, I'm sure of that.

I think it was a nice PR move to allow the fans to hit the sidelines where they get a better feel for the speed of the College game. I found it comical that we were asked not to take pictures during certain sessions as if a picture might disclose why this offense is soo pathetic? I'm hoping that it comes around because there is no doubt that the quality of skilled players as increased dramatically and that is a good thing. I also realize that with Kevin Prince sidelined the offense lacks leadership. I find it amazing on how we have two seperate teams out on the field. The defensive unit is tight, they rally to the ball with great intensity and play the game with excitement and alot of pride. There seems to be no lack of leadership. On the otherhand the offensive unit is a total contrast to the defense. No real leadership other than Kevin Prince. There is no excitement from the unit and if anything they look like deer in the headlights. Hopefully that changes in the next couple of weeks or it is going to be difficult offensively. It is time for the offensive line to show its maturity and get the job done and do it with passion. I don't see alot of passion. Time for CRN to rip some ass.
