Offensive woes
During the 20-play scrimmage at the end of practice, there were a few highlights, like two nice catches by Ricky Marvray and a couple of nice runs, but there were plenty of miscues. The final play was a combination of errors, starting with an early snap Nick Crissman didn't know was coming. The ball hit the ground, Jonathan Franklin scooped it up and ran it in for a touchdown. But that was definitely not the way that was drawn up. Neuheisel said before that the team would run 20-25 plays and the day was done after.
Only three of the 20 plays went for 5 yards or more. There were the interceptions, one play for no gain, two plays for loss.
Here's Neuheisel's assessment: ``Absolutely missed assignments, missed checks, missed things that cause the play to completely break up. You can't play the play if one guy is going right and everyone else is going left. The guy who's going right is unblocked and he comes back and makes a play for a 4-yard loss. It makes everybody feel we're all doing things poorly and that's not the case. It requires everyone to be on the same page. It's a great lesson for the coaches to know how good they're coaching.''

hey Jill,
am I remembering right that you're a Colorado alumna?
if so, your thoughts on the Buffs joining the Pac-10?
ATV get his first pick as a pro Hell yeah! Can't wait to see him oct 10 against my boys!Pete can take his challenge flag and shove it!
coleman made 2 runs over 5 yards. Marvray made 2 catches, Franklin ran in for a TD. That sounds like more than 3 plays to me. She must be a Colorado grad.
Very disappointed in the offense....yet again. No matter what scheme Coach Rick employs, it seems the players just can't get a handle on it. We better step up big time in the next 2 weeks.
Also, Jill...any video of Coach Rick and/or the players after the scrimmage?
Bbruin RELAX!
Offensive woes?! Wait a second, a third possibly fourth string quarterback fumbles the ball and the result is a TD. I am sorry, that is the kind of defensive failure that costs us games. I think it is too early to whine about offense. That always starts with a solid QB, and until Prince really gets a shot, I won't start whining about offense. That said, letting that TD is unforgivable. All I have to say is Oregon, Cal, even USC. We lost those games from letting stupid plays like that happen. Going to miss BP and Datone and AV.
Confidential to UCLA Dynasty: I have been investigating UCLA and USC history this weekend on the google, and something is horribly wrong, despite what you said about JaManfred Jackson.
I remembered UCLA's dominance of USC in the 1990's being powered by UCLA's peerless QB/WR combo of wide retriever Vladimir "Gazpacho" Gazpachinski, and QB Golan Globus (first Jewish quarterback in the Pac 10). But I can't find either of these guys on the internet!! And no JaManfred Jackson, no Dustin Frode, and no albino running back Tank Padilla!
Mother refuses to talk to me about the situation, but I'm pretty sure she's hiding something from me. So many questions!! Why do I remember the Rose Bowl being in the approximate location of the stadium for Birmingham High School? Why, if she went to USC for college, did she raise me to be a UCLA fan? Why does she cry when I ask about my father -- the father I have never met, whose name she has never revealed to me?
What can it all mean? I swear I will find the answers.
Another wedding this weekend?
OMFG, I am so tired of offensive woes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
You're right. I did graduate from Colorado. I think it's an excellent move for the Buffaloes, although they'll struggle for the first few years. Since winning the national title in 1990, CU has struggled to attract nationally-ranked recruits. CU didn't fit in the Big 12 anymore. Although I'll miss the rivarly with Nebraska, this is a good move for CU's future, and maybe this will inspire the school to add baseball again. Kidding. While the Pac-10 would love for that to happen, it won't any time soon.
