South Bend Tribune says Shaq Evans to UCLA
Recently released Notre Dame wide receiver Shaq Evans appears headed to UCLA, or at least so says the South Bend Tribune: Story
I'd heard Oregon was the front-runner - and everything on Evans Facebook wall indicates Oregon, but now things appear to have changed. Evans was rated the No. 12 wideout by Scout.com but found himself buried on the Notre Dame depth chart.

Interesting that Neuheisel was quoted talking about the player in the linked article:
"Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel characterized the transfer as a done deal late Tuesday afternoon with only some administrative kinks to work out.
"We have contacted Shaquelle," Neuheisel said after practice Tuesday. "And it would be wonderful to have him be part of our team.""
The fact that Neuheisel is commenting on a player, before any official announcement, would seem to indicate this is indeed a done deal.
Good get.
Oregon's classes started on the 23rd. According to the article, he would have to sit out 2011 if he became a Duck.
Those people commenting on the linked article are making me reconsider my view on ND fans. I've had some bad experiences in the past - most notably at South Bend - but those commenting are generally pretty classy, wishing Shaq well.
Apparently he was behind even Robbie Toma in the depth chart, the 3-star recruit from Hawaii that UCLA offered and lost to ND on signing day.
Do we need a WR who was 'buried' on ND's depth chart? I'd rather get a disgruntled ND O-lineman who was rated No. 12 by Scout.com.
Lose Josh Shirley, Paul and Shaq Richardson; gain Brandon Willis, Jordan Barrett, and Shaq Evans. Funny how things work out. Is it karma?
Shaq Evans was not among our top 6-7 receivers. The guy has some real talent and athletic ability though, so hopefully he can do some damage back home; good luck to him.
