Check out the latest batch of weekly answers...

1) ASJ verbally committed to UW today. Of course, he could sign elswhere in Feburary and we all know Rick is a great closer. I recall he was allegedly a "silent verbal" to UCLA a few months ago. Any idea what happened? - UW Fan
No idea. Kids change their minds. That's why there should never be an early signing period. And if you gave a kid til March 3 instead of February 3, he'd change his mind again.

2) Your work with the blog continues to grow and improve.I see the team practicing in dark blue uniforms;do you think they will change their uniform colors this season? - Bibs
Yes, they're darker blue.

3) What percentage of the offense will be run out of the "pistol" this year? - UW Fan
From what they're telling us, 100 percent or zero percent. I have absolutely no read on the situation. For months they've said that they still have the base offense and the Pistol was a wrinkle, but then they haven't really practiced the base offense in months. I need to see a game to really know what's going on.

4) Do you consider the fall scrimmage a success? I was there and thought we looked pretty decent, but some articles I've seen said the offense was out of sync. - Anonymous
Given the injuries, I don't know I'd call it a "success," but schematically and maturation-wise, yes, it was a success. People don't realize - and I'm guilty of this, too - but a zone blocking scheme puts 100 percent of the pressure on the play-callers. The size, skill, experience, etc. of the blockers is secondary to just being in the right place. Of course, a great defense can blow everything up, but a great defense can blow anything up. The receiving game is clicking - notice I didn't say passing, because Prince is out - and if Prince can return and not lose a step, they should be OK. Now, the injuries have hurt, a lot, but I need to see them against Kansas State to decide how much they're going to hurt.

5) Jon, with Kai Maiava being hurt now, what are the chances that after K-State Micah Kia moves to left Guard and Harris is back to the starting right tackle? - SpencerStueve
Could happen, but I'd be surprised. They're pretty pleased with Darius Savage's performance so far.
