Jon, with Kai Maiava being hurt now, what are the chances that after K-State Micah Kia moves to left Guard and Harris is back to the starting right tackle?

Based on what you've seen of Prince/Brehaut now, which QB would you say has more upside? Is there any chance Brehaut starts over a healthy Prince this season?

Given the injuries to the O line, do you think Ward and/or Yandall will be pressed into service this year? I'm sure the staff would prefer that they both redshirt, if it weren't for the various circumstances that have decimated the line. Have either of them looked capable of holding their own if required to play significant snaps? Any review of how Casey Griffiths has looked? Does he have any experience at center? Thank you.

I was under the assumption Norm Chow was hired--and hyped--because he had a proven system. So why in the heck is Coach Rick switching over to this new Pistol scheme?

De'Anthony Thomas was switched to having low interest in us from Scout on Friday then on Saturday it was reported that he was at the scrimmage, does this mean he is still checking us out? Also, do you hear anything about whether Hundley enjoyed his trip?

Any latest hunches on UCLA's chances for these top recruits who are seriously considering the Bruins: QB Brett Hundley, TE Junior Pomee (who had previously given a verbal), OT Paulee Asiata, DT Mickey Johnson. Also, how many silent commits, if any?

With all of the promising young talent, here is a fun guessing game. Which football player will have the best (most productive) career as a Bruin. Which player will have the best career in the NFL?

I have been reading a lot more about Hester in the secondary than Moore so far in camp. Is that because Moore had high expectations coming in / was a known quantity? Or is it that Hester is having the better camp as a DB?

If UCLA fails to make a bowl game this season (5-7 or 6-6 record), do you think some of the high quality recruits currently considering UCLA will decide to head elsewhere?

Has anyone been practicing at center other than Kai Maiava? As in second and third string? Have we not been addressing this very issue in our recruiting the last couple of years?

Any chance Rick will get Wittek or Kessler to flip to UCLA?

Can you give us some tech details? What camera do you use? Are you holding the camera? Are they recorded to memory cards or tape? It looks like you're using Windows Movie Maker to edit. Correct?

It seems that not only are we getting the quality recruits now, but even guys that we tried to get are transfering in from the programs that they shunned us for. Are we allowed to actively recruit after they tell us no? Are there any that are considering transfering to UCLA?

come on Jon, last week you know i didn't really mean we'd score '50 points a game'. I'm just wondering what type of mentality CRN has when it comes to scoring v. sportsmanship.... is he the type to keep trying to score or just run, run, run, punt with the lead in the 4th?

If Brehaut's performance was the same like Matt Barkley's scrimmage, do you feel LA times and ESPN would be ball washing Barkley next few weeks?

If UCLA can't land an elite QB recruit this season do you think CRN will be around to see this program get back in the top 10 or will someone else reap the rewards of his outstanding recruiting everywhere else and bring in there own big time QB prospect?

1) What was up with all those players dyeing their hair gold? Was it just for the scrimmage?

2) We heard last week that CRN intends on mixing the pistol with the regular pro offense. Considering that they haven't practiced the pro set since the week before last year's USC game (except goal line situation), do you think CRN is really going to mix it up? Fans in the stands all think it's the pistol all the way.

3) The D line didn't get very many "sacks" at the scrimmage unlike the previous public scrimmages. Does this bode well for the offensive line or is it a sign of a weaker D line this year?

How would you rank the Pac-10 quarterbacks?

Kevin Prince has dealt with a lot of injuries over the past few years (dating back to high school). At what point does this become a big enough problem where you start thinking about making Brehaut the guy?

With Jahii Carson committed to Arizona State, who is CBH going hot and heavy after?

Glenn Love moved from Safety to LB. How has that gone for him? Will he see playing time at that position over Westgate?

as of now what is the starting line-up on offense and defence?? do u think owa or D4 can crack the starting lineup during the season??

Since 1998 when Ucla was riding 20 game win streak and had the last great QB in Cade McNown it seems Ucla has been somewhat cursed. DeShaun Foster got hurt, Freddie Mitchell, Drew Olson, Ben Olson, Patric Cowan, just to name a few, and last year we had injuries as well and now this year! What do you make of all this and our "key" players getting injured year in and year out? Great job btw!

Did you see Kevin Love on Entourage tonight? Haha, anyways, how do you feel about the Jake Locker/UW and Andrew Luck/Furd hype machine.. I think UW won't make a bowl and Furd will finish with 4 conference losses.. am I crazy?

When Barr came in, it wasn't clear if he was going to play offense or defense. Is he definitely on offense or is his long term position possibly at LB?

How did the unofficial visits for the fall scrimmage go? Did you get to talk to Hundley?

Jon- a current player's parents made comments before the scrimmage to my buddy that U.C.L.A.'s training table is terrible. Do you have any insight into what their training table consists of, and if it seems on par with the top programs in the PAC-10? Reports out of Notre Dame are that coach Kelly brought a great training table program with him, where as the previous coach didn't even have one. It seems to be an interesting topic. Thanks.

How is Matt Carlino settling in so far? Seems unlikely given depth issues, but is there any chance he red shirts?

It is funny to see the LA Times (Chris Foster/Dufrense) continue to hype USC football to the point of winning all there games (LOL). Last year I picked them to lose four games and this year I am saying they will lose 5. They have a new coach, new offensive co-ordinator(just hired a couple of weeks ago) and a new Defensive scheme they have to learn, plus a coach who has won nothing. Too much to learn to fast and a QB who is known for throwing interceptions. If they lose 5 will more and more recruits be heading to Westwood, and will Lames head be on a block for there boosters?

Just read that Kevin Prince is back after significant improvement with his injury this weekend. Is he back full-time or are they going to work him in gradually?

What happens next at UCLA... The football team returns to a B.C.S. bowl game, the basketball team returns to the Final Four, or the baseball team returns to Omaha?

With all the injuries to the offensive line, is there any chance Hasiak returns this year? Is he academically ineligible for the quarter or the entire year?

It’s good to get an idea of what the players are like and to hear them communicate, would like to hear a little more from the linemen as opposed to the skill players. With prince, breheaut, and crissman all listed as sophomores, isn't Crissman eligible to apply for a sixth year due to his injuries the past two years? If so, what are his thoughts on hanging around that long ? Considering him a freshman right now would make our depth chart look tons better.

jon, in our defense what determines where the corners line up? do they always line up on same side of the field every play, or do they line up according to the wide side/short side of the field or does our best corner always line up against the opponents best WR? Thanks

Hey Jon, great blog! Can you ask some of the defensive guys and coaches what their thoughts of the pistol offense are? Is it more difficult to defend? They see it everyday. How does it compare to last year's offense and how do they think it will do?

If Im not mistaken first year players have to do a show for the whole team (football). Any information on what occurred this year?
