"we need to look at the film to see how we can do a better job of tackling" ???
really coach, you need film to see how to tackle better? this is gonna be a long season.
I would normally be more positive after a close loss like this, but the truth is, K-State is not a top 50 team. All the other Pac-10 teams, with the possible exception of WSU, would have handled the Wildcats with ease. Although the talent level of our players has risen since 2006, our win-loss ratio has fallen. Under Karl Dorrell we beat BYU, Northwestern, Stanford, Cal, and even U$C, but our present team would not have a hope against any of these teams. Is there something endemically wrong with the program? Does the coaching staff need to be up-graded? Very few players on both offense and defense really seem to know what they're doing. Prince seems like a lost child in a shopping mall. He has the look in his eyes that we criticized Dorrell for having; the stunned 'deer in the headlights' look. When we run a few positive plays, the players involved are sent back to the bench, and the momentum is crushed. It almost seems as if they're being punished for doing something well. There's definitely something rotten in the 'state of Westwood', but I'll be darned if I can figure out what and where it is. This could be a worse season than Rick's initial 4-8 one. God help us.
WTF is baby shamu looking for in the background?? Looking for a treat??
Wow, that must've been difficult to answer questions gracefully and coherently in that circumstance. He needs to check the tape to see WHO missed the tackles in the 2nd half. Almost all of the big runs were off-tackle to the outside and were not up the middle.
My guess is that WLB Sean Westgate (5-11, 217), DE Nate Chandler (new to D) didn't contain, and CB Sheldon Price (6-2, 177) couldn't support the run , with the safeties playing too far off the ball when they should put 8-9 in the box for run support. S Dietrich Riley and LB Jordan Zumwalt may have to play early.
The drops by the receivers however, were a total surprise and there is absolutely no excuse. WR Coach Reggie Moore and his players need to explain themselves.
that's on the coach - missing assignments, scheme. you get the most out of your players and Neu has a lot of talent to get the most of
That was not good is what that was. I've had season tickets since Bob Toledo was coach. I wanted Rick N. back when Dorrell was hired. But we regressed today and took a step backwards.
is that Rodney Dangerfield's driver in "Back to School" in the background? Rocky's buddy?
All of you sound like whining cry babies. It was one game, a bad game where we missed a lot of momentum game changers early. Daniel Thomas is the real deal, and a lot of pac schools would've had a tough time stopping him. It was a tough loss, but it was only one game, don't throw in the towel , keep the faith! Go Bruins!
@anon "WTF is baby shamu looking for in the background?? Looking for a treat??" LMAO, I can't stand that dude, he's a prick.
UCLA will be back and will make us Bruins proud this week against Stanford, I hope every UCLA fan shows up at the Rose Bowl to support the Bruins.
