A quick update
From what I've been told, reports this morning that six players have been suspended for UCLA's matchup with Oregon are a bit premature. I have confirmed the names of four players with multiple sources, but until more is known, I won't release their names. This is a fluid situation, I've been told, and I just don't think it's as cut-and-dry as it's been made out to be.
There have been several message board "rumors" and "I've-been-hearings" from comments in this blog, and such posts will no longer be tolerated. In the future, any sort of similar post will be immediately deleted, and the poster will be banned. It's not cool, and it's not funny, guys. Please cut it out.
I expect Rick Neuheisel to address the allegations to a certain extent after practice today, and I'll post his response. Earlier today on the Hacksaw Hamilton radio show in San Diego, Neuheisel called the reports "awful fabrications," so we'll see if his stance has changed at all.
I promise that as this situation becomes more clear, I'll keep you informed.

Rumor is that UCLA football sucks and I've been hearing that for 30 years now!

A 30 year Bruin
Jon,
I'm confused by the comment by CRN that the reports are "awful fabrications" combined with your comment that the situation is fluid and subject to appeals.
Is CRN saying that the names in reports are "awful fabrications"? Otherwise, I don't see how something subject to appeal could be a "fabrication"
Jon, you really oughta loosen up. Meanwhile, CFT hit the nail on the head, UCLA needs to at least acknowledge the reports as being correct, which they haven't. CRN calling them fabrications is a joke.
30 Year Bruin - Over the last 30 years in the USC - UCLA series it's USC 15 UCLA 14 with 1 tie. And USC is on probation for cheating which might explain a few of their wins. UCLA doesn't suck.
Love the bruins and trust CRN to do the right and appropriate thing when ALL the facts have been determined. Speculation is not good for the team, the players or the blog!
That said, If CRN's statements sound like that of a defense attorney we must all remember that he is also a licensed California attorney.
oooh - norm pwnd fake 30 yr bruin.
I don't understand why you are saying anyone that mentioned comments and information you posted here on your blog isn't "cool" and "won't be tolerated".
Huh? As long as no one is attributing incorrect comments to you, what is the problem? This isn't a premium site as far as I know, is it?
What is the problem Jon? Sounds like you got embarrassed or something but sheesh!
J Gold has acquitted himself with professional dignity today with this story, in sharp contrast with the LAT and OCR and willifred. It is refreshing to read a fine journalist practicing his profession with integrity and discipline. I am glad that Mr Gold will not allow these pages to become polluted with nonsense in comment threads too. Nice work, Jon, we appreciate you.
No I mean it... I don't understand what he is talking about. His post sounds like he is upset with some that may have posted comments on bruin boards about things he stated in his post here. Is that the case?
If so, why is that a problem?
If he already posted something to an unrestricted audience, is that content never supposed to be repeated until he determines it can be?
I am not trying to be a jerk.
I really do not understand what he is talking about.
Please enlighten me.
Wilfred,
I would imagine he is talking about VB's fake link and naming names of people who were not involved.
Ahhh, I did not see any of that. Sounded like he wanted to post things and not have them repeated. Cool. Thanks for explanation.
Jon Gold layin' it down...dig it! People who come here (won't name names, but one of them rhymes with 'VD') just to call UCLA players, fans, and other commenters on this blog 'idiots' or 'morons' need to step away from their keyboard(s) and delve back into their El Camino CC textbooks.
Jon can you comment on the Orange County Register updated article?
Just go away, VD. You've embarrassed yourself enough...
