Just a reminder...
In all the ruckus of the last few days, going back to Saturday's carnage, I forgot to put a reminder up that today is basketball media day. I'll be there for the first real interview sessions of the season. Definitely going to try to spend some time with Tyler Honeycutt, and also, given the apparent transformation this summer, with Josh Smith.
Quite clearly, I'm going to be asking many questions about last season, and why things should change this year. Anything specific I should look out for? I'll try to work some of your questions in as well, if I can.
With Pac-10 media day coming up soon - and a change of location, too, now that it's at LA Live - I'll be in full-fledged dual-sport mode soon. Should be...fun.

Talk to Jerime Anderson about how he has prepared better for this season and how the new competition he will be facing has motivated him. You da man
Hey Jon,
I would love for you to ask about team chemistry going into the season. How close are the guys? We have all heard rumblings about how certain players who are no longer with the program were tough for both players and coaches to get along with. Have those departures helped?
Also, I would love to hear if Jerime Anderson is feeling added pressure with Laz Jones here. Did that change his mentality, off-season workouts, etc.
Finally, does Reeves feel he can play at the 4, is his jumper/quickness improved?
Thanks, keep up the hard work.
Censorship is a bad thing!
I thought you liked humor and sarcasm, Jon?
Apparently, I have been banned for sarcasm. Or is it guilt by association?
Could you please ask Nelson about moving from center to power forward and how it changes his game/mindset?
Thanks, Jon!
it would appear some of the citizens hereabouts haven't the vaguest idea what the 1st amendment really says nor means. they don't seem capable of distinguishing between a public and a private forum, of the presence or absence of public monies and the rights of individuals or corporations to set agendas and the parameters within which they will allow access to the microphone.
I'm most interested in hearing about Jerime Anderson. Hopefully you'll be able to ask him a few questions? Going into last season he knew that he would be the starter. He claimed to have prepared, but we all saw that he didn't live up to Pac-10 (much less UCLA) standards. I agree with cmkale, wanting to know exactly what he's done to mentally and physically prepare, far beyond anything he did last year. Does he know that his back is against the wall, and this team can thrive or derail according to how he performs?
i'm curious about Laz Jones. can he play? if yes, we'll be solid, if not, it could be another LONG year. also, is there any of the "over the wall" mentality that seems to be crippling our football team? my guess is NO, as BH wouldn't tolerate that crap.
Should we expect any changes in terms of system or style of play?
What is attractive about coming to UCLA from a basketball perspective?
Two questions...I know practice hasn't even started yet, but I was wondering if the coaches have a sense of what they want the PG rotation to look like.
Second, ask Reeves if his brother would stand a chance on the court against him and, vice versa, would he stand a chance against Raymond on the football field (trying to cover him or block or whatever)...
Profile the freshmen/newcomers!
Ultimate bruin, maybe you should just calm down. It's his site, if you want to complain, then go elsewhere. No one is forcing you to be here. Stop complaining when the man is just helping.
Can you ask Jerime if he has put any thought into where he will transfer after this season?
DISCLAIMER:
THIS IS A JOKE AND NOT INTENDED TO HURT ANY FEELINGS
Dear Vw:
With all due respect, I am not complaining. My posts (those that are still here) were intended solely as opinions. I have a right to express my opinion. If Mr. Gold feels my opinions are not in keeping with his idea for his blog, he can delete or ban me from posting. If he does not appreciate my sarcasm, that is his right. However, if one choses to chastise another, IN MY OPINION, one should be able to handle reasoned response. IN MY OPINION, none of my deleted posts were per se objectionable. They did not contain any FALSE STATEMENTS of fact, which Mr. Gold so vehemently objects to. Yes, they were pointed sarcasm which, apparently, he CHOSE not to deal with. Instead, he deleted them. C'est la Vie!
Hey UB -
Will you still invite JG to your pregame festivities?
I know I am always welcomed!
Dear BRIAN DOHN (Imposter):
1. I assume you are an imposter and not the real Brian Dohn. Be careful, false representations are not always welcome here. :)
2. In response to your question, Michael Corleone once said, " . . . [K]eep your friends close and your enemies closer."
