This will be udderly fascinating to see who Liar (err. Lawyer) John picks and the nature of his queries.
Not really sure how he won...
I had Arizona 33, UCLA 13, a difference of 4+8 = 12
BE REAL had Arizona 24, UCLA 13, a difference of 5+8 = 13.
And I'm sure others were even closer. Is this one of those "closest without going over" things, or is there some other rule I'm not familiar with?
Actually, I found 3 others who were within 10 of the final score and picked Arizona to win...what gives?
Lawyer John's questions should be interesting... Ironically, I bet they won't be as harsh on the athletes as a good number of questions from Bruin fathful.
Lawyer John winning this contest is a good fit with the rest of the UCLA season so far.
I never saw a winner announced for the UCLA/Oregon pick-the-score. Did Backdoor Cut win that one too?
With all due respect, I won the first contest of the year but Mr. Gold gave it to somebody else. I e-mailed Mr. Gold an inquiry as to why he had changed the rules of HIS game from last year. Mr. Gold's "response."-- He ignored me.
I was ticked off at Mr. Gold, so I didn't play his game again until last Saturday, when I said what the heck.
But I did not win this contest, others were closer. So I defer to the true winners, let them ask their favorite players questions because I don't follow ucla sports; I could not name 5 bruin footballers if my life depended on it.

We'll give you questions to ask, LJ! Gold, what is this voter fraud? Is this America, or a banana republic.....Jon Goldistan?!? Your readers have been disenfranchised! We DEMAND a recount!!!
LJ, in case you're stumped here are some suggestions (any player would work):
- Are you and your teammates proud of all your "2nd half victories" this year?
- Does it bother you that your fanbase is a bunch of pansies?
- Considering the fact that sanctions at USC have dwindled depth, do you believe you could start on the scout team over there?
- Have you seen any pool sheets in CRN's office?
- If inserted, would you lead the team in QB rating? (once again, this works for any player/any position)
- How did it feel to have your big brother spank you last year after your moron coach called a timeout in the closing minutes?
- Does wearing baby blue make you feel tough?
- Do you think UCLA should consider leaving the Pac-10 for say, the WAC in hopes of making an annual bowl game?
- On Dec 4 will the Bruins keep the game within 3 TDs?
- Is next year "the year?"
More:
1) Is the gap still closing w/ USC?
2) With the changes across town, is this still the season to "claim the city"?
3) W/out a football victory over your city rival, is the monopoly really over?
4) After 3 straight top 15 recruiting classes, what is your excuse for poor performance besides lack of talent?
5) Do you feel foolish talking about Rose Bowls and National Championships when UCLA has been mired in the bottom half of the conference for years?
6) Do you miss Karl Dorrell, since his 3 year record was vastly superior to Slick Rick's?
7) With your university going bankrupt, are you concerned about having to wear practice jerseys on game day to save costs on uniforms?
8) In addition to serving as your football coach, has Rick Neuheisel ever attempted to sell you insurance, offshore tax shelters, or subprime mortgage pools?
9) Do you feel like the baby blue color scheme makes the players less aggressive, yet more affectionate toward each other?
10) Is next year "the year", like last year and this year were supposed to be?
wow. release the trolls!
ww rob...
you won't BELIEVE how close I was to nailing the OR game score
I was 62-13 OR, I think.
but someone got the exact score.
anyway...Jon is so behind on this "feature" that it doesn't matter who wins the contest anymore.
HAHA, look at all the Trogans here - just goes to show who OWNS this town!
Now I dont know for sure, but from what I've noticed so far, I'm pretty sure the criteria for winning Jon's contest is as follows (in order)....
1. pick the winning team
2. predict the margin of victory (or be the closest)
3. if there is still a tie between two or more contestants, then closest to the final score as posted by Warren and others above is only last tiebreaker.
Bruwin5931 had the Bruins winning by 3... cant get closer than that for picking the "winning team by the correct margin". However, I agree that Jon should have stated the exact rules when he started his contest.
Eactly Bruintx, and in my e-mails to Mr. Gold I requested that he explain his rules but I guess he moves to the beat of his own drum.
By the way, I presented 10 questions to Mr. Gold since he contended I won his contest last week, and they were not presented to the player of my choice.
Seems Mr. Gold is best at ignoring his fan base, or my case, winner of his contest.
