Damn Norm, at least act like you want to be back here.

Stupid question. What did you expect him to say in the middle of the season? No, I don't want to be back?

He pretty much did say that, without actually using those words. It's obvious he doesn't really want to come back to UCLA and who could blame him. Rick is the one who decided to go to the Pistol and now he is trying to make Chow the fall guy.

Rick is a terrible coach and the players don't respect him and don't want to play for him. What more proof does anyone need?

Hey Jon, you stated that Norm had some interesting things to say about his status for next year, but his comments were about as uninteresting as it gets in such matters. How about you let us know actually pertinent things like Brehaut's and Malcolm Lee's status for the next game instead of BS teasers like saying Norm says interesting things?

What would you like to know about Malcolm and Richard?

I'd just like to know if Lee is ready to go for Wednesday and if Brehaut is going to be ready to go for Friday. I know you stated that Brehaut practiced in a red jersey today and is going through the protocols to come back, but that doesn't mean he'll be ready or cleared to play on Friday. I'm asking from what you're personally hearing/seeing is he going to be good to go or does it look questionable? Also, did Lee practice today or is he going to practice tomorrow to be ready for Wednesday? I keep checking your blog for information like this not Norm being blindsided about if he's going to be at UCLA next year, which by the way, I'm sure doesn't matter that much to him since he's paid either way, it's only a matter of ego at this point for him. Thanks.

I love how cheating Trogans like "TheStupidest99" above make stupid statements like "Rick is a terrible coach and the players don't respect him and don't want to play for him. What more proof does anyone need?"

Is that why he has recruited 3 straight top 10 classes, because players don't want to play for him, fool?

How great is your Lame Kiffin coach who's living off the last methane fumes of Cheat Carrol and will soon be exposed for the terrible coach he really is?

The fact is that Chow is proven coach who has been subjected to some very adverse circumstances thus far at UCLA. If given the chance, I'm sure is skill will come through. Coach Neu has gone through the same difficulties, so I hope they band together and bring the Bruins back.

I'm loyal to this blog, but have to say that was a pretty wasted opportunity of an interview. How about questions about playcalling, conflict in systems between this and last year's offense, personnel, or what is wrong with the offense? Let's not pretend Chow is doing a great job and CRN is just hanging him out to dry.

I have never posted on this blog but I would like to make a few comments:
1. Many references to your recruiting classes and the supposed talent you have. As you know, many USC recruting classes have had 4 and 5 star atheletes coming out of high school. Some have performed and some have not. These are 18 year old kids that have to be coached up to be a success. I would suggest that with UCLA your talent level is notquite what you all seem to believe and you certainly have not provided the coaching required.
2. Norm Chow is a success with talented kids. Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Matt Cassell and whoever he coached in Utah. Clearly, the UCLA talent level at QB does not compare. Also, the "Pop Gun" offense is CRN program, not Chow's. CRN is merely looking for a scapegoat.
3. Good luck on 12/4/10!

I have to agree mike04, While It is nice to see the "Quotables" post, how about asking the coaches some questions tat are worthy of being quotable. While John did ask about preparing young QB's during blowout losses, how about the ULTRA conservative play calling and never taking a chance when we really have nothing to lose. The question I really want asked is for Neuheisel.....Rick, do you think your QB's are responding well to your message of being "relentlessly positive" combined with the message of being called to the carpet and berated on the sidelines after a mistake in the game?

Anonymous said:

Why all the big fuss about this? The whole team has under performed so far. What do you expect Neuheisel to say? Everything is peachy and everybody's job is safe? I'm sure if you ask him about Chuck Bullough or Reggie Moore or any of the other assistant coaches you would get the same answer. It doesn't matter if Chow is the only assistant with a multi-year contract. With the season UCLA has had he would be crazy, and not doing his job, if he doesn't evaluate everybody at the end of the season. If Neuheisel doesn't think that Chow will be the best OC for UCLA going forward then he would let Chow go, AT THE END OF THE SEASON. What do you expect Chow to say? I hate it here. I don't like any of the QBs and I wished I had signed with USC? It's ridiculous to expect either Neuheisel or Chow to react any differently to these questions. What would the reaction be if Neuheisel had said that YES, COACH CHOW WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK NEXT SEASON? Everyone would jump on him for backing Chow considering how bad the offense has performed.

What VB said!

It isn't Norm's fault that Harkey can't catch a cold walking nake.d in the snow in Siberia.

It isn't Norm's fault that the O-line can't pass protect. (Which is why we went to the Pistol in the first place. The blocking assignments are MUCH easier.)

It isn't Norm's fault that Baca could not get his shi.t together academically.

It isn't Norm's fault that Maiva broke his ankle in the fall scrimmage.

It isn't Norm's fault that Fauria has been hampered by injuries.

It isn't Norm's fault that we haven't had a QB that can properly check down or go though their progressions rapidly in quite some time.

It isn't Norm's fault that Sheller (Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh) had 3 consecutive drive killing penalties in the second half against UW.

The fact is that we have had TOO MANY injuries with NO DEPTH to begin with. You can't make a car a Cadillac by replacing the hood ornament on a VW.

Plain and simple. We lack talent and depth at key positions. Our 'talent' is young and unseasoned. Our somewhat serviceable upper classmen had been biten by the injury bug.

As frustrating as it is, we are probably in a bit better shape next year, ASSUMING everyone gets and stays healthy.

As I have said all year, Rick and Norm have this year and next, then it is hasta la vista, baby!

Hey VD and UD
Brehaut was Norms hand picked QB...remember the chopper rides to Los Osos?? For Christ sakes John fricking Cooper at Ohio State had a great record because he had talented players......VD would probably be a good coach if he had talented players! In the interim though hes got to do better with what he has.....top 10 recruiting classes the last 3 years mostly recruited by NeuChow..Who the HELL do you think is responsible for bringing these QB's in that you are bitching about you moron!

VB,

So it is plain and simple because we don't have a talented QB, but then you go on to list just about every other position on the field also. You should think before you write.

Even funnier is that your dad backed up your retarded post.
