From UCLA:

Four Bruins were named to Football All-America teams in recent days. The Associated Press squad, which was released on Dec. 14, included junior linebacker Akeem Ayers and junior safety Rahim Moore as third-team selections. Ayers was a finalist for the this season's Butkus Award, while Moore was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award.

Sophomore punter Jeff Locke and Ayers each received honorable mention All-America recognition from Sports Illustrated (si.com). Locke ranked first in the Pac-10 and fifth in the NCAA with his average of 45.84 yards per kick.

Phil Steele's Magazine tabbed Ayers as a second-team All-America selection. Senior long-snapper Christian Yount and Moore were named to Steele's fourth-team All-America squad.

Ugh!!! Hate to see that schedule - looks like we are a 4 - 5 win team next year with the range being somewhere between 3 and 6 wins. When are we going to can RN and hire someone that can coach? I'm depressed again.

I believe we will win at least 5 games next season: Houston, San Jose Sate, Texas, Wazzu, and Colorado. In 2012, Coach Rick will have us competing for 6-7 wins, if Xavier is back on the O-line. Without substantial moral and financial support from the administration, this is about the best we can hope for in the near future.

Coach Thom, unfortunately, I agree. Texas could go either way although I'm assuming that they will be a better team next year and we'll stay about the same and hence a loss. Probably a chance to win an additional game on the schedule but also a chance that we lose one of the "wins" that you've highlighted. It's really shocking that we are all resigned to such mediocrity, which shouldn't be the case playing in the market that we are in with all that UCLA has to offer. It's also shocking to me that RN is still able to attract high quality recruits given the likelihood that he'll be fired at some point within next couple of years.
