Holliday picks up UCLA offer
Scout.com's Brandon Huffman is reporting that Oaks Christian wide receiver Blair Holliday has been offered a scholarship by UCLA, after helping lead the Lions to a CIF championship win over Westlake.
I've been high on Holliday for a while now, after covering some of his games for the Daily News and seeing him around UCLA, and I thought UCLA should have offered Devin Lucien and him sooner. With Shaquelle Evans coming in next season and every wide receiver returning, there isn't a tremendous need for more than one or two wideouts in this class, but if the Bruins can stay in the mix for Devon Blackmon and Tobias Singleton, they would be in good shape.
Obviously, the hiring of the wide receiver coach, or at least the reassignment of duties, as Rick Neuheisel did not rule out coaching the position himself during the conference call on Saturday, becomes all the more important.

Holliday has a much better chance of playing right away at Duke. I am sure he has considered the number of WR already on the Bruin roster and will therefore stay with Duke! Highly unlikely he will change his mind!
Why wouldn't any receiver want to come to UCLA and learn how to block?
How many players in the NFL are from Duke? Yep. There best player in the NFL is none other than Patrick Mannelly, the famous long snapper playing for the Bears.
Holliday will be Bruin next year.
My personal assistant Miss Google also found this tidbit:
"My son plays on the Oaks basketball team with Blair and he just received a text ... “UCLA is definitely my favorite,” said Holliday. “It's close to home, ..." which is an excerpt behind the scout firewall.
Who knows if it's true but if I were Holliday, Duke would not be my #1 choice, unless I was a point guard.
I would trade Holliday, his BB teammate, and his mom for Quinn Cook.
Where are The Big Uglies???!!!!
"Neuheisel did not rule out coaching the position himself" GREAT. That is all we need. CRN screaming at the QB's & the WR's as they come to the sidelines.
Holliday is a smart kid...i'm sure he will make a good decision. If he wants to stay local, UCLA. If he wants to get away, DUKE. BTW, he is a pt. guard for OC's Hoop team.
P.S. I hope he stays, he's a play-maker and we NEED PLAY-MAKERS!!!!!
