Only time will tell. What is done is done. Chow - OUT. Bullogh - OUT. CRN had to make some changes after his second 4 - 8 season in 3 years. So, he made some sweeping changes in the coaching staff. Now, the new coaches have to roll up their sleeves and figure this thing out. With the young developing talent, they do have some stock to work with. Although this year's recruiting class was thin (except Hundley), the prior two should give the new coaches some promising young lads to mold. Bottom line for CRN is he had to make some dramatic changes and hope for the best in 2011. Another 4 - 8 season this year and its Syonara! He needs to pull out at least 7 wins in 2011. I don't think even 6 - 6 will cut it. To be safe, he needs 7 or 8 wins this year.

Jon, what are your thoughts? Was he one of the favorites or a darkhorse out of a dozen or so candidates? When did he first show up on your radar screen? Your inside info would be great. Thanks

How can you get excited or offer an opinion that you know absolutely nothing about? No one has heard of the guy. Does that mean he's a bad hire? A good hire? Who knows. He has no name recognition in this market, and I'd be surprised is anyone has ever paid any attention to his coaching background given that hardley anyone around here cares anything about Cincinnatti or South Florida. I'm sure he wasn't the first choice, or the second, or the third, or ..... But, he is the choice and if Neuheisel is going to be as successful as he wants to be at UCLA, then hopefully he hired a guy that will do a very good job and provide a basis for success that will include beating SC, finishing in the top three of the PAC-12 if not winning the PAC-12, competing successfully in a bowl game and winning, and doing a killer job at recruiting, especially when the competition is on probation.

Jon, ask us a year from now how we rate this hire. Too early to say. Unfortunately, you did not provide that option/selection.

Why isn't "WTF?" one of your poll answers?

Honestly, after over a decade of riding the short bus, I'd be happier as an alum and former donor if the university went the way of the Cal State football programs. Time to hang it up. It can't get any worse, can it?
