Weekly Answers, Pt. 2

Check out the latest batch of weekly answers…

1) When is UCLA’s Pro Day and who is scheduled to audition for NFL scouts that day? – sandiegobruinfan
The Pro Day is scheduled for March 29, and they haven’t released a list of probable performers, but I would expect most graduating seniors and obviously Rahim Moore and Akeem Ayers.

2) During the slow summer months, any chance you can start interviewing UCLA celebrity alums (Sean Astin, Brad Delson of Linkin Park, etc.) to get their takes on Bruin sports? – sandiegobruinfan
I would love to do something like that, but I’m not sure the general audience would be that interested. Plus, I’m not sure I’d call the Linkin Park guy a celebrity. I only know him as the Linkin Park guy.

3) Does the availability of playing in Anaheim next season, change if the Sacramento Kings move there? They’d be playing in the same arena right? – San Diego Therapist
Anaheim is not being looked at as a permanent destination, so if UCLA wanted to have a couple more games down there, it would not be a major scheduling conflict.

4) What’s your view on Coach Howland’s last recruiting class of Lazeric Jones, Joshua Smith, and Tyler Lamb. How much do you think it has had to do with going from fourteen and eighteen to twenty-one and eight? – l.a. steve
I think Smith is quite clearly on his way to being a dominant player in the Pac-10, and just needs to work on conditioning and adding a few more moves. I don’t think Lamb’s playing time was handled well, but I think he showed at times his defensive ability and that he’s not gun-shy. Jones has been up-and-down on the court, mostly down recently, but considering the options at point guard going into the season, he’s been a good stop-gap. I think he’s been really, really affected by his injuries. Overall, I’d give the class a B up to this point.

5) With the addition of the Wear twins the front court looks to be very, very muddled. I just don’t see an adequate amount of minutes going around to keep people happy and to help and improve individuals in game play, thoughts and scenarios? – incalos
That will definitely be something to look out for next season. No one knows how it’s all going to work, not even Howland.
