That looks terrible. The configuration looks exactly as it did before. They added more temporary seating on the baselines and replaced the railings in the 300 level with plexiglass.
The building will still be cavernous with terrible sight lines. The corner seats in the 200 level and the entire 300 level are way too far from the court.
yay! plexiglass railings and new seats. so what is wrong with that anon??? new scoreboard and banners showcased in the center. i think its good.
The building will still be cavernous with terrible sight lines. The corner seats in the 200 level and the entire 300 level are way too far from the court. For over $100M I would expect that to be fixed.
Unfortunately, Anon, those are the problems you run into when you "renovate" an existing building. Some changes just are not possible due to the basic structure and engineering of the building you are renovating.
If they tore down Pauley and started from scratch, I'm sure many of those deficiencies would be fixed, but they're not. They're doing the best with what they have to work with. You can't build a Porsche off of a Mustang chassis, no matter how much money you have.
Yeah, but you could put a nitromethane Chrysler Hemi motor in it and it would blow the doors off said Porsche!
Wow, the student sections got shafted to the end of the floor???
What will interest me is to see if they really are able to sell out the lower and middle level seats that are between the court end lines asking for a minimum (including required donation) of over $200 a game.
I believe USC was requiring a $10K seat license for the middle sections, why is UCLA only asking $3,200?? If USC can get $10K UCLA should be able to get at least that amount with the history of UCLA basketball!!
