Weekly Q&A

Fire away with questions for this week's Q&A. Please don't post new questions on the answers section, because I don't always check the comments. Save them for next week.

Thanks

Jon, was Kevin Ware not supposed to ink his paperwork this weekend? Also is there talk that the coaching staff is going to work on Lane's SF type game for the future or is he just religated to PF from now on?

When is the contract over wit addidas? We need to switch to Nike

Hoops: I heard that Larry Drew is enrolled at UCLA. What is his status with the basketball team? How will he be involved with the team during the next season?

What happened with shirley and the richardsons in terms of their court cases? I'm still a little stung by them just being able to pick up and leave without a transfer redshirt year after being accused (and i know not convicted) of a felony. It also doesn't help that they all appear to be studs.

What should I do with my "new" Pauley seats for the 2012 year? The online virtual tour confirms that the interior of Pauley will be largely unchanged, yet Guerrero is doubling the price by adding a seat license, errr donation, per seat per year. What's that all about...same product for 2x the money??? I find this gouging a bit shameful. Can you talk with Guerrero and make him see reason? Better remind him that games look pretty darn good on high def big screens.

What do you think about our chances with Shabazz Muhammed? Also, what about players like Jordan Adams and William Goodwin out of Georgia? Thanks.

Jon - Is it true that Marvcus Patton is the new Defense Graduate Assistant as reported on footballscoop.com? If so, what can you tell us about the move, and why hasn't anything been reported on it locally?

given that franklin and coleman are pretty entrenched in the #1 and #2 running back spots and with how good jordan james is performing, do you think there's any chance malcolm jones redshirts next year?

Is there going to be a Select-A-Seat event at the Rose Bowl this year or have they scrapped it due to the renovations? Usually I have received something by now.

Jon,
2 of the 3 women's hoops verbals to Cal have stated they are still coming despite losing their coach.
Do you have any information on the 4 top level Bruins verbals? Have they made any announcements?

What is the major difference in this spring practice and last spring? Do you think the players are in better condition?Hag sameach!

A). Do you see Big Josh as a lottery lock for 2012 if he takes the next leap w/his physical condition AND follows that w/a monster season? B). Next logical step for Reeves is improved mid-range game and averaging double-doubles as our other "go-to" option. Would he therefore be gone, too? C). Glad yer feeling better.

Thanks for taking the time to answer questions and running the blog.

1. How would you measure Tyler Lamb's potential to fill in for Malcolm Lee/Tyler Honeycutt? What are key similarities and differences in what they do well?
2. Having seen a little more of our coordinators, do you think they have the mentality to say, "This week 1 starter isn't stepping up, lets give this next guy a shot," or do you think they'll be more apt to play it safe, a la Taylor Embree returning punts all season long?
3. At the conclusion of spring practice, what do you anticipate the positives and negatives we take from the last few weeks being?

If one-and-done is an irreversible part of the culture of elite college basketball teams can we view youth and inexperience as an excuse for performance? Can we view immaturity as an excuse for a lack of effort? How many future NBA players likely were listed on the UCLA roster last season?

given that there's been some talk that anthony barr is too tall to stick at the rb position and with how little usage the f-back gets, if neither of those positions work out for him what position do you think he ends up at? he seems to prefer offense and has the size to play te, but there was also talk of turning him into an olb when he first came in.

Crissman has been hurt since he got here. Have they petioned for another year of eligibility?

What's the air like around Coach Neuheisel in spring practice? Last year if I remember correctly you seemed to sense the Coach would have likely two more years to turn it around. After four and eight and a new coaching staff it doesn't seem like we're in Kansas anymore. If we see UCLA in the middle of the Pac-12 will the coach be back?
