How do we stand with Shabazz Muhammed right now? Also, are there any official or unofficial visits coming up? Do you think Korey McCray is the leader to be our next assistant coach right now? Thanks.

  • BruinPain

Why no news regarding baseball team?? Please keep us posted.

I was saddened to see that the depth chart still holds Kevin Prince as the starting QB.Was this a type O or something because I could not beleive my eyes??? He has never been able to throw a ball more than 35 YRDS or throw the screen pass except for over there heads and every pass is behind the receiver (but he is great in practice!). seriously, if Neuheisel throws out that “he knows the offense better” card one more time i will throw up. It is what you can do on the feild. It goes back to last years play not to lose attitude. If the coaches really are trying to turn this thing around it starts with a new QB. What are you hearing in terms of the starting QB???

  • Reformed Droog

You’ve just been appointed UCLA’s athletic director. What do you tell Rick Neuheisel about this coming season? Is he on your hot seat?

With Jerime Anderson and Zeke Jones graduating in June 2012, UCLA’s only point guard for the 2012-2013 season is North Carolina transfer Larry Drew. What is the outlook for UCLA to sign another strong point guard?

  • UCLA3

Why hasnt there been any talk about possibly bringing in Russell Wilson (former NC State, QB), is it too crazy to think that he could come in and be a one year bridge for Hundley? Is it his baseball commitment? We need an answer at QB and no doubt this kid has talent. Thoughts?

What’s the likelihood Presley returns? After all, the Trojies thought Brice Butler was gone too.

  • captainqtp

If Presley is gone, who is the third F-Back? It seems like at least 3 will be necessary since Thigpen is a bit injury prone.

  • WuBruin

What would be your Wu Tang name?

  • Ryan

Where do you see Shaquelle Evans in terms of the depth chart come September? Also, what is your impression of Raymond Nelson? He seems to have a rock-solid frame with the kind of muscle you don’t build in the gym.

  • Thomas Soteros-McNamara

How are Nelson Rosario and Taylor Embree still on top of the depth chart at wide receiver?

What is there to do in Houston over Labor Day weekend? Gator races?

With the school year rapidly coming to a close, how would you grade the job our Athletics Department has done? What would you say are the strengths, weaknesses, and prospects for the future?

    Hello Jon

According to their sanctions U$C is only allowed a max of 15 new scholarships/yr and a max of 75 total scholarships.

I was told that last year they had 85 on scholarship, with 20 seniors,or 65 on scholarship after graduation. Given the max of 75 scholarships means they should only be able to offer 10 this year, but I am seeing what seems to be a lot more than 10 offers.

    Whats going on?

    PS Great site!

Regarding the ‘offseason’, since we are between spring and fall ball for football and well into the basketball offseason, what do you think is the best use of time for the players during this time? I’m sure much of it depends on whether the players are coming off injuries, but how much is conditioning vs playing with other teammates vs learning plays etc important?

Thanks for the work. Question: Did you ever find out where I could get the JRW black pyramid patch? Also if might have been stated but where do you see the fb team falling this year? 6-6, 7-5?

  • rejn

Is Christopher Bono coming/walking on to UCLA?

  • Anonymous

Has Xavier Suafilo given any indication of his plans to return to UCLA next year after his mission, or possibly play for another school once he returns?

  • Russ

Hi Jon, …what do you hear, what do you know RE: possibility of new home uniforms. Going back to the full shoulder stripe, different color pants, tossing the snug fit look? Any input Jon.

Any news on Jeff Baca’s injury?

What’s the story with Marcus Tuisasosopo? Will he become an intern or volunteer coach? Will he then be allowed to recruit?

  • Anonymous

I’ve noticed that Wisconsin offered Kwayde Miller from Ramona CA. He’s 6’8″ and 280 and converted from TE so I assume he has some “quicks” for OT.

Are the Bruins looking at him? Is he looking at UCLA?

  • Anonymous

It has been reported that Josh Garnett, Zach Banner, and Walker Williams different high schools but are close friends and work out together in Tacoma.

That said, is there any talk of a package deal with two of them (or all three) ?

  • Anonymous

Why do the Bruins need both a “running game coordinator” and a running backs coach? Similarly, I have heard of “passing game coordinators” Do these coordinators add something not expected of position coaches?

  • 909Bruin

any reason why Hawaii didn’t offer our 2 commits??

  • Anonymous

Aside from offensive line shuffling do you think there will be any post spring pre- fall positiion changes?

  • Anonymous

It seems that UCLA placed emphasis on filling the roster with Fullbacks. They have two verbals and waiting on another.

Rarely, is a true freshman ready to contribute at fullback. Do you think the coaching staff plan to play any freshmen fullbacks? If not who will move to FB from the current roster?

  • Anonymous

David Carter mentioned that he received superior but simple technique instruction and adjustment prior to the draft that improved his performance. He even suggested that had he been taught these techniques at UCLA he would have had had a more prominent career.

That said, Who was this coach who helped hiim?

Was Todd Howard deficient or was the new coach just a superstar coach/consultant

Do penis enlargement pills really work?

    Not for you.

Do you think the coaching staff puts the best players on the field? If so I think Abbot, Westgate, David Carter, Pat Cowan, Kevin Craft, and Viney should have played more or sooner in the past and I think Randall Carroll, Sheldon Price, Morrell Presley, Andre Dean, and Malcolm Jones either shouldn’t have seen the field or saw the field before they were really ready. Lets hope Jordon James gets to see the field as much as he should.

  • MichaelRyerson

Hey Ley, i before e except after c or when making the sound of an a as in neighbor or weigh. I know, I know, you’re welcome.

What are your thoughts on the players interaction with the new coordinators? Do you think they are responding to them well? Thanks.

  • localbruin

Guerrero hasn’t won a major mens championship (football, basketball) in a decade or more. Some want him to move on. Are you interested in the job?

  • HuffCrushin

Jon, is Brandon Huffman as dreamy in person as he comes across in your interviews?

  • mike04

What do the new football coaches bring to the program that was missing in previous years?

  • Anonymous

Why do you think that UCLA has never been a “winner” in football? We’ve had some great seasons (not since 2005) but why with all of the great things UCLA has to offer (recruiting hot bed, top 25 university, beautiful campus etc. etc) why can’t we win? Honestly, what are you thoughts on this? Please don’t say bad luck.

  • BruinBall

With the new TV deal, is there much financial incentive for schools like UCLA to win? Seems like most of their football revenue will be coming from an evenly distributed TV package regardless of the number of wins they put up.

  • Anonymous

What are your thoughts on Larry Scott and the new Pac-12 deal? Do you think that every team deserves an even split?

  • Anonymous

Jon, are you planning any features/articles on the other 3 new/new-assignment asistance coaches? Also, was Farnk Ganz, Jr. “nudged” out the door or did he really left on his own? Thanks.

  • lasportsfan(noSC!!)

So I’m a huge UCLA fan and I always will be, but I’m going to ASU next fall and I really want to start following the sports out there, do you know of any blog sites like this one for ASU athletics? Thanks

  • ucla-of-the rockies

  • rejn

Jon – Can you clarify….regarding the USC Probation – or the NCAA’s denial to reconsider…

Does the 30 scholorship limit go into play beginning with the recruiting class that USC can sign in February, 2012?

Are the players that they signed to date good to go, or, do the scholarship limits impact the class they signed in February, 2011 going into the 2011 FB season?

Will they have to deny acceptance/LOI to any incoming recruits/freshman?

What was the story with the benches clearing after the baseball game with Cal last Saturday?
