Weekly Answers, Pt. 7

Check out the latest batch of weekly answers…

1) How many games have Coach Neuheisel’s decisions to start an injured Kevin Prince over Richard Brehaut cost us since last season’s QB battle truly began? – Sh0Nuff
I can think of three for sure, but we’ll never know.

2) If your CRN, do you play Hundley? I know you don’t want to burn a year but, if you don’t play him he can transfer and still have 4 years? If you allow him a few sets he’ll think twice about transferring since he’ll after red shirt. This is the state of affairs at UCLA. I’m more worried about losing our tope young players – Hundley, Malcolm Jones, and future recruits. – Relentlessly Pessimistic
I watch Brehaut for two more weeks before I make that decision. And if I’m Neuheisel, and I don’t see what I need to see out of Brehaut, I get Hundley caught up and put him in for a few packages next week before starting him down the road. But they really shouldn’t burn a redshirt if he only plays 9 snaps a game.

3) Who are the leaders on this team? Who are the guys that are holding this team together when things get tough? It seems, from my cheap seats, that this team is lacking leadership. – Anonymous
I’m starting to wonder the same thing. A lot of talk, not a ton of action.

4) Do you think neuheisel was reluctant to start brehaut because of his involvement with the baseball team? clearly he is a better passer than prince and not too bad of a runner at that. Does brehaut still struggle with the playbook? Since Neu is on the hot seat, do you think if he continues this 2 qb rotation- that he would have brehaut and hundley? Mac brown did it and his seat is pretty warm (thus his whole brand new coaching staff). – chunk_e_bruin
Brehaut’s decision to play baseball certainly didn’t endear him, but I think it’s part of a larger issue. The bigger concern is why not just hand it to one, make the decision and still that confidence in him, rather than play the guessing game. Going forward, I don’t imagine a two-QB system, no.

5) Not like he will play but what is WR Jerry Johnson status? – rob abreu
He has been running lightly and is probably a couple weeks away from his first major practice action.
