I give coaching an F, It's mind blowing that they would play a one handed Westgate.. WSU ran right at him every time he ews on the field.

When Kendricks was in there the defense played much better

So, Jon, you're saying we won in spite of the poor coaching??

Ditto re Westgate. Kendricks is a beast, and was in on every play either making the tackle or assisting when he was it. Why they continue to play Westgate is an egregious coaching miscue. Jon, please ask the coaching staff why this personnel decision is being made. I sit in the stands and can see the obvious difference.

Don't agree that play calling on offense was passive. We actually took quite a few shots down field with the pass and how about the 3 and 8 to ice the game.

B for d-line is a bit generous. A couple of coverage sacks, but outside of that not much pressure on the QB. And a poor running team rushed for over 150 yards. Wsu marched down the field at will and if they had decent execution in the red zone they win the game.

You're a pretty easy grader, Jon.
If I had a few more professors grade like that, I would have graduated with honors instead of barely passing through. I think every one should be one full letter grade lower, especially the d-line play. I spent the whole game screaming "where's the pass rush" as the WSU qb picked us apart - it wasn't till the end of the game when Owa and some of our young guys were in that I saw anything resembling pressure on the qb.

However, the team showed great heart and persistence in pulling out a well deserved win, and Prince did play well to help the offense get the job done.

I also agree that Kendricks should be in there all the time - he seemed to be in on almost every tackle and has a motor that won't stop. He did make one big mistake in letting the running back get behind him for a crucial catch, but with more playing time he'll avoid errors like that in the future.

Yeah, I also disagree about the conservative playcalling. On defense, maybe, but we took a lot of shots downfield on offense. The downfield throws also happened on play-action, which only works when you establish a successful running game, which UCLA did.

Kendricks looked pretty good overall, but got beat badly on a swing pass out to the running back for a TD. A young player's mistake. He will be all-conference in 2 years, count on it. But, BECAUSE he has such a high motor, there's no way he can play every down, so get used to seeing Westgate out there a bunch still.

This ain't the Wazzu team of old, they are definitely much improved from seasons past.

I like this grading feature, Jon.
Nice to see the "F" gone in special teams. Amazing how raising an "F" to a "B" -- anywhere -- will usually result in a "W"

The Coaching pretty much always deserves an F. To all the people booing Kevin Prince, STFU! (infer from those letters what you will)- don't boo ANYONE on your team! Be supportive you morons, or go root for another team.

I am liking this Tyler Gonzalez kid. What a GREAT story. Go Bruins.

Datone's sack on third down in the fourth in the open field preventing a sure first down in the red zone alone justifies the Defensive Line grade. Multiple stops in the red zone after being put onto the field after consecutive three and outs, while playing the entire first quarter also justifies recognition.

DJ's sack was a coverage sack though. QB had a lot of time. Agreed on red zone stops, but wsu executed poorly. A Few drops here and there and they're clearly not a running team. Also, we all know that it's tougher to move the ball inside the 20 let alone the 10, especially in the air. Wsu consistently marched downfield for most of the game. Most of the time the game is won between the 20s. Maybe a c plus. This is still the Achilles of the team. If they don't improve dramatically it may be a tough season for the Bruins.
