UCLA quarterback Kevin Prince hit Josh Smith in the left side of the end zone to cut the Washington State lead to two, but the ensuing two-point conversion attempt was no good, Prince unable to find Nelson Rosario on the right side.

Someone needs to hit me in the head. I think I'm dreaming, did we win this game?

Can you imagine how many points we could score in a game if we had 88 snaps a game like WSU?

Do you know why WSU ran twice as many plays as us. Tresey's bend don't break offense, we'll give up field position to let the opposition kick the 3 point field goal.

Great win for Kevin Prince. He did what he needed to do to win. He was a gamer and a true Bruin.

Hey Bob, hate to rain on your parade, but our red zone defense was one of the reasons we were IN this game. Sometimes giving up 3 a few times instead of 7 can mean the difference in a game...as it was tonight.

We played Washington State. Don't kid yourself, WS is not a very good football team.

Did you watch the pressure the Sooners put on the young Texas QB's. Something we refused to do when we played them. Tresey does not send anyone in support of an passive D-line who can't get it done on their own.

We will get beat by better teams every time if we let QB's camp behind their Big's.

This was a good enough effort to win against a bad team, but when you let the opposition run up to 90 plays a game you will most likely lose.

Bob: Nice observations. You know the game of football well. And yes, our second half of the season (defensively) now simply boils down to this: can our D-line step it up a big notch, and then another, and so on ... to help keep our bruised and beaten LBs & secondary from being so exposed as we head toward sharpshooting, pocket-based QBs from AZ, ASU & U$C.
