Oaks Christian's Adams commits to UCLA
Landed in San Francisco to discover the news that Oaks Christian cornerback Ishmael Adams has committed to UCLA. Chatted briefly on the phone and he confirmed, but we'll pick up the conversation later today.
The verbal commitment is a big one, from one of the premier cornerbacks in the country, and one of UCLA's top targets, a consensus four-star prospect. Adams is rated nationally as the No. 10 at his position by Scout.com, No. 12 by Rivals.com and No. 12 by ESPN, and cornerback is a position of need for the Bruins, even with six current verbal commitments from cornerbacks.

I know I am Mr. Negativity of the ucla blog, but most of this footage was of the kid running the ball, and I am sure he will never be handed the pill at ucla.
This goes to prove how difficult it is for "experts" to assess football talent at the high school level, and how you are lucky if you are 50 to 70% correct in your assessments.

The video says JR Year video. He had plenty of offers so somebody knows something about his talents and he is also playing in the biggest all star game next month.
He also plays running back well.
He has talent.
We have need at cornerback and running back.
A lot of the credit for Adams committing belongs to the other commitment we had last week Marcus Rios, when they played in the All-star game at Fresno this past weekend Rios did a great job recruiting Adams. Marcus Rios is in Dallas for another All-star game and Rios said he will continue to recruit for the Bruins. Rios has one of the best attitudes I've seen in a Bruin in a long time.

Not be mean, but your comment is pants on head retarded. You don't provide a single substantial argument about why this is a poor pickup. Your only point is that people who are "experts" make mistakes, well that's deep insight right there. Tell me, what is the failure rate for random internet blog commenters? Are you pulling down six figures a year thanks to your sterling insight? I assume that's a big no on account of the fact that I am willing to pay you to shut up right now.
This is a quality pickup, not just for what he brings as a player, but because he is an active recruiter himself. Grats to the folks who brought him into the folk and welcome to the next proud member of the UCLA family!
