By most accounts Stover had a pretty impressive off-season. Maybe not so much for Lane. I also understand both are battling some minor dings down the stretch. But with Reeves’ dismissal and Big Josh’s admission that he did nothing but pound donuts all summer, do you think CBH has relied a bit too much on his twin sons? Wow were they ever exposed in NYC. It would seem that building a little more depth inside could be a key factor to any type of 11th hour run we might hope to pull off.

Is Sal Alosi permitted to work with the b-ball team? If ever a group needed to work on their strength & conditioning it’s these guys.

If scout.com is to be believed, the only four schools to have Top 10 recruiting classes in football for the three years 2008/09/10 were Alabama, LSU, u$c and UCLA. Obviously, only 1 of these 4 schools stood out for ineptitude – why? Was scout consistently wrong on one of the 4 schools? Especially poor coaching? Not enough depth when compared to the other 3 schools? Is it because teams I support are inclined to have too much drama?

Jon, compared to other teams, are the UCLA basketball players having any fun?

What odds would you give UCLA for winning the PAC-12 tourney and making it to the madness?

Is Howland stumbling the way Toledo and Neu did — giving preferential treatment to certain players and keeping more deserving athletes on the bench?

  • MoeBruins

I keep hearing Howland is safe because they have such a “great” recruiting class coming in. Isn’t it true that as of today they have only two committed players one of whom may be a one and done? If so if they don’t get any of the other players they are after will it still be considered a “great” recruiting class?

  • MoeBruins

Jon kind of the opposite of Blur’s comments. To me at least from reading tweets it sounds like the players are having plenty of fun. My question is do any of them really care that the team is bad? I don’t so the heart that was a key ingrediant in Howland’s recruits in his early years.

UCLA alum comes up to and asks you your opinion about purchasing season tickets. Your advice buy, sell or wait and see if Mora lives up to the hype?

ENOUGH UCLA MIS-ADVENTURES IN BASKETBALL LAND…Jon, when do your boys Franklin & Bash come back to our tv sets?…this is the most important question this season…

  • TruBruin

Jon, I read a post you had that Mora retained Breckenfield (sp?) as the dline coach which I was completely surprised by due to the disappointing year the dline had. Now it seema he is no longer a coach. What is the deal with this guy, is he in or out?

Regarding the running back from Muir – Tairen Owens. What’s the real story behind his situation? Is he coming to UCLA? Did UCLA pull their offer to him? Grades? He changed his mind or got cold feet? He still wants to go to UCLA? No one else wants him???????

What’s the latest on Shabazz and Tony Parker? What are you hearing to date, and how strong do you believe that Shabazz, Parker, both, or either one will be at UCLA next year/season?

How what about the kid from Harvard Westlake – the 6-8 or 6-9 kid? (Zono or something like that???)

Just wondering…what is the attendace numbers for UCLA men’s home basketball games this season at the Sports Arena? I’m sure tickets sold are alot greater than actual butts in seats. What is the average tickets sold versus average number of people in attendance? Thanks. Is UCLA losing more money than they anticipated from the temporary situation?

What are the players’ early thoughts on Alosi’s off-season workouts? Judging from the video on the UCLA athletic website, he appears to be putting an emphasis on crossfit/agility type of strength workouts. Any chance you may get to interview him between now and spring ball? Thanks for the word as always.

If Alosi is only allowed to coach the football team,do any of the other teams have strength and conditioning coaches?
