Fire away with questions for this week's Q&A. Please don't post new questions on the answers section, because I don't always check the comments. Save them for next week.

Thanks

So, what happened to Justin Moore, QB at Westlake High? Story in the Acorn is that he quit football. He's only a junior and has been on 2 CIF championship teams. I've seen him play and he's good. Why did he quit football?

Given the success in this year's recruiting class, I was curious of what coaches were primarily responsible for which recruits. It doesn't seem to be based on the assistant coaches' position they are responsible for. Could you give us a breakdown of what coach is responsible for each of this year's signings?

I have speculated with friends that Jerry Neuhiesel was a gray shirt because of his father's tenuous position as coach. Now that CRN is gone, can we assume the same for Jerry?

Who will step up at the WR spots, especially the big target guy, next year with Rosario gone?

Have you heard any ETA on Travis Wear's high ankle sprain?

What's goin on with Owa? Word was that he was a physical specimen coming in but a little bit raw... Fast forward to next year when he is a junior. You'd think if he was ever going to breakout now would be the time. Has he progressed? Is he a hard worker? What's up? I am desperately hoping not to label him with the B word but...

Why do you think TJ Millweard was ranked so high (#5) on ESPN but so much lower on Scout & Rivals?? FWIW, I feel Rivals is most accurate, and see ESPN as least accurate.

Do you think Angus McClure remains as the DL coach for this season? What experience does he have there? I thought the new DC, Lou Spanos, would want to bring in his own DL coach, rather than one of Neuheisel's holdovers.

Now that Signing Day is over with football, when's basketball's Signing Day? What's the word on Shabazz and the other recruits? Howland started off strong with Anderson and Adams, can he finish off strong, too?

What do you make of a guy like Jeff Ulbrich...just saw a video of him at UCLA's recruiting presentation...seems like the right attitude at linebacker. Do you believe someone like his kind of energy is crucial on defense? has UCLA had this recently?

thanks man!

Shouldn't a guy named Angus McClure have red hair?

The new DC seems nervous about something. Did he check housing costs before signing up?

Jon, do you think Nestor has the decency to offer Tydides the occasional reach-around, or is coitis just a total one-way street over at Bruinsnation?

Not just Shabazz, but what about Tony Parker? What's his latest status or possibility of being at UCLA next year?

Regarding the running back from Muir - Tairen Owens. What's the real story behind his situation? Is he coming to UCLA? Did UCLA pull their offer to him? Grades? He changed his mind or got cold feet? He still wants to go to UCLA? No one else wants him???????

Can you tell me what the college football head coaches do between Febuary and spring practices and the time after spring practices to August when the season begins? It seems they make alot of money to be sitting in there office watching film for 6 months.

Where did the coaches from last season end up? I thought that some of them were really good and had the respect of the players at the positions they coached.

Hey Jon,

I've noticed that quite a few of our recruits this year (and I believe one of our early verbals for next year as well) are from Georgia. Is Coach Mora trying to set up a new pipeline there (possibly given his previous experience with the Falcons)? Would this be a good idea and do you think it will work out for us?

Similar questions with Texas (minus the possible NFL-work relation).

Hi Jon,

Anthony Jefferson was one of our key recruits. He was injured last season. Can you find out if he's getting a medical redshirt for last year and what's his status? Is he good to go for spring practice?

Looking ahead to NSD 2013, how many scholarships are we expected to be able to grant? I know even asking this at this stage is getting way, way ahead of ourselves, but, hey- I'm just as eager as anybody else! GO BRUINS!!!

What's the walkon situation in 2012? Have any players of note given any indication they'll try to join the team that way?

I see Josh Smith uses a four lettered word starting with the letter "F" in his tweets. Is this something that Ben Howland and the university approve of? Or do they take a hands off approach to tweets? Is Jim Mora's philosophy of tweeting different than Howland's?

So what happened to Reeves Nelson? Is he taking to anyone about what happened and where he is going now?

Powell was all about UCLA. What happened? Did we back up or did he really want to play with the rest of his Upland teamates (minus the "diva" Lawler). Also what went wrong with Wooshing? I liked that kid.

Our S&C coach, Sal Alosi is one of our 9 "assistant" coaches, does that mean he can work with the players only during sanctioned practice times and spring practice, or as a S&C coach can he also be with them in off hours.

Tony said:

Hi Jon,

What can you tell us about Sal Alosi? Jim More had him in Atlanta and didn't hesitate to hire him here. Can you give us fans more info on his style, technique, rapport with the players, what made him high on Mora's get list, etc.?

In your time spent at practice or, you know, at the bar with CBH, have you ever heard him talk of a half-court trap/full-court press? Ever seen one set-up in practice? I know it's been like pulling teeth to just TRY a zone. But this team just seems to love getting into the passing lanes, which could make for one nasty pressing unit -- especially while Big Josh is on the bench with his oxygen mask.
