Ogden named to CFB Hall of Fame

Former UCLA standout offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden was named to the College Football Hall of Fame, it was announced today. Ogden becomes the third Bruin to receive the honor in five years, joining Randy Cross and Troy Aikman as recent honorees.

Ogden had a standout career at UCLA, including the 1995 Outland Trophy, before a prolific NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens, where he had 11 Pro Bowl appearances.

    But congrats to Ogden. I hope we can find another one like him.


    Don’t cross Aikman, Ogden, or Cross for that matter when voting for Hall of Fame candidates.

    These guys were studs in their day, and would be All-Americans today as well

    Ogden has come a long way. I remember the first game he played, against Cal State Fullerton. I don’t think he started, but soon after he was put in, the DT from Fullerton beat Ogden and blindsided Wayne Cook, who was then lost for the season with a knee injury. Ogden had come into the program with a lot of hype, and after that play, I didn’t think he was going to amount to much. Guess he proved me wrong.
