This was a GREAT LISTEN. Yes, all 43 minutes. Jon really opened up in this interview with some very insightful information that only a beat reporter around the program would know.
Very frank opinions. And Dan Rubenstein, who I’m not familiar with, was extremely prepared and asked great questions. Worth every bit of the 43-minute listen if you are a UCLA football fan. With a couple of minutes very late devoted to best cheeseburgers in L.A.

Thank you for putting Apple Pan in it’s place. It isn’t that good of a burger (good pie though). Parking in the area sucks too. I’ll take a Fatburger, In n’ Out, or 5 Guys over Apple Pan.
What’s your thoughts on San Diego Burgers? I have Rocky’s Crown Point as my best. Hodad’s has a lot of bacon, but the pre-fab burger kills it for me.

Is 26 Beach Cafe on Washington still around? Not a burger joint by any stretch, but serve some of the best I’ve had.

Great interview…until you dissed the Apple Pan. The Hickory Cheeseburger is a classic. Great fries. Great pie. A real burger doesn’t have Arugula and Gruyere cheese. How many different ways does it spell yuppie. Let’s stick with good…old fashioned burgers that come wrapped in paper. Keep it real, Gold!
And by the way…you are so much better than the guy that does the SC blog. Now it’s time for the team to be better.

Farmhouse burger at Cheesecake Factory. Grilled pork belly and a fried egg. Mmmm.
Farmer burger from Farmer Boys. Bacon-y, greasy, and good.
