UCLA RB Johnathan Franklin does it again, named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week. Too early to mention Heisman? Apparently not for Bruin fans.

For the second consecutive week, UCLA running back Johnathan Franklin was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week. Frankln rushed for a career-best 217 yards on 26 carries. He also caught three passes for 59 yards and a touchdown in the Bruins’ 36-30 upset win over Nebraska. Franklin is the leading rusher in the nation with 215.5 yards. Oregon State linebacker DJ Welch (defense) and Arizona kicker John Bonano (special teams) also earned honors. As for the Heisman talk, already there’s a twitter account (@JF23_4Heisman) trying to get the buzz started. Franklin’s off to a great start, but expectations need to be tempered, and right now UCLA needs to remain focused. The ranking is nice and so is the media attention, but now’s not the time to get ahead.
