UCLA football team awards

UCLA team awards were handed out at the annual banquet held Sunday evening. Few surprises, but of note: Johnathan Franklin and Anthony Barr were awarded offensive and defensive MVP; Jake Brendel, Datone Jones and Ka’imi Fairbarin were most improved; Jeff Locke was given all-around excellence.

    Even the Bruins overlooked Kendricks. Anthony Barr made some of the most spectacular defensive plays and should be an All-American candidate and a great pro, but based on consistent play and production throughout the year, IMO, Eric Kendricks should have been defensive player of the year. Datone had a pretty

    good year, too, I’m sure the voting was pretty close.

    I agree, kendricks is by far the mvp of the defense & has gotten overlooked by everyone, well fox guys gave him some love during the game
